Royal Palms Penthouse 1407 is located at 561 East Beach Boulevard in beautiful Gulf Shores, Alabama.

This incredible corner penthouse unit is sure to sweep you off your feet! With a huge wrap around balcony and wide spanning views this one bedroom, two bathroom has everything you need to make your next beach vacation a smash hit. There is a king size bed in the master suite, hallway bunk bed (for children only please!) and a sleeper sofa in the living room making this unit able to accommodate up to 6 people comfortably. There is a washer and dryer in unit for your convenience. With a fully equipped kitchen, eating meals in is a breeze! This unit has 2 flat screen TVs, a DVD player and WiFi to keep you connected and entertained throughout your stay.

Royal Palms is a beautiful property with lots of excellent amenities. With it’s gulf front location, you will have easy access to the white sandy beaches of Gulf Shores every day! There are both an indoor and an outdoor pool, exercise room, steam room and sauna. This property is located near the 1540 ft. Gulf State Park Fishing Pier and very close proximity to all of the best dining, shopping and recreation that the island has to offer. Please note there are new BBQ grills on site here. The build has 2 elevators for was of access throughout the building.

The balcony was more than I hoped for. I thoroughly enjoyed watching dolphins from this balcony. I am close to a knee replacement so this was mostly my beach enjoyment. The condo is dated and could use some minor upgrades for sure. Put in charging stations, a coffee pot/keurig wouldn't be that expensive, and the mold in the shower door tracks is awful. Less flat pillows. The building manager should check for smoking on balconies. someone even removed the signs from the elevators. The smoking does rise and disrupts others flow of fresh air.

We have stayed at this unit previously & although we like the location & the building the unit itself has issues. The TV in the living room is very small & placed on a shelf with bars that obscure both sides of the TV. This to us is unreasonable & utterly makes no sense. The TV in the bedroom is TINY! TV's are extremely cheap right now & both these TV's could be replaced very reasonably. The carpet in the bedroom should be pulled out & a bare floor should be left because the carpet is filthy. The throw rug in the living room is very dirty & unraveling & should be replaced. The stove is old & should be replaced.

The location & views from the balcony made the whole trip worth it. We loved being so close to the pier, & the beach by the condo was not very busy. However, the room was a bit of a let down. There are many little things that could be done to greatly improve this room. When we arrived, we noticed the trash can was broken (step-on to open didn’t work). We tried to use the oven, but there was a strong burning smell when we turned it on. More attention should’ve been paid to the cleaning of the room. There were half eaten Oreos in one of the kitchen drawers & the fridge shelves were sticky. Every time we used the master bathroom shower, black chunks fell out of the door track. Also, there was mold around & on the air vents in both bathrooms. The fan in the hall bathroom made strange noises when turned on, & sometimes didn’t come on at all. The AC unit filter needs replacement as well. There are a lot of chairs in the living room area, & it felt cluttered. The TV in the living area is very small, but on a huge shelf that blocks the dining table from being used. The balcony door doesn’t lock, you have to push a bench in front of it to prevent it from being opened. The balcony space is huge, & the view from it is great! However, the chair cushions could use an upgrade or at least the ripped up old ones could be thrown out. We went down to the pool area a few times, & the pools/hot tub were very nice. It’s great that there’s a storage room you can borrow chairs & floats from! We did have to use the stairs a couple times, & the stairs are not clearly marked on the first floor. We didn’t spend a lot of time in the room & rates per night were lower since it was October when we stayed here, so it wasn’t a complete disappointment. The bed and couch were comfy, which was a plus especially after a busy day out! However, we probably wouldn’t stay here again - especially not for a higher rate in the busy season.

Our stay was good. The unit was a little smaller than I thought it was going to be. The outdoor furniture needs to be updated. One of the layout chairs was shredded and mangled. It needs thrown away. The cushions in the chairs were moldy . Other than the outdoor furniture and the unit being small, it was a great place to get away and relax on the beach.

The location of the building is fantastic, right next to the state land, so the beach isn't overcrowded. Also, the balcony is unbelievable! It's such a shame there isn't better furniture to use on it. All the patio furniture is old and moldy on the seats. We had to use our beach towels to sit on. Mostly used the wire chairs, which were uncomfortable, but at least didn't have moldy cushions. It was also not disclosed to us that there is high-rise construction going on adjacent to the patio. It didn't ruin the outside for us, but it was very noisy from early morning until about 4-5pm every day. Inside was mostly clean, but extremely dated throughout. Floor had no signs of sand, including the carpet, which is nice, however, there were spots around the couch where the floor wasn't clean, and the sofa smelled very musty. Bathroom air conditioner vent in the ceiling was moldy and concerning. The windows are so nice to have additional views of the ocean. Showers were clean, and had good water pressure. Great location of trash chute, right outside of entry. Didn't get to use the indoor or outdoor pool, always loaded with people. Very convenient access to beach directly, and handy shower area next to walkway. The view is so fantastic in this unit, it is a shame to not update the unit and make it really feel like a treat! Probably won't stay in this unit again, even for the view, because of the furnishings. But would definitely stay in the building again.

Spent 28 days at this unit in the month of February & had a very nice time. We felt the unit was very clean & adequately furnished albeit a very small 1 bedroom. It had 2 bathrooms but both of them were very small & I think it would of been better with 1 bathroom of a larger size. The building was centrally located & had a hot tub & heated pool inside as well as an unheated outside pool.
I would say the outside deck was a big plus & had plenty of seating & a great view.

I called and asked for a location close to the Gulf Shores State Park due to a convention we were attending there. This property was recommended and was a perfect location. I was suggested to stay in the Penthouse 1407 since I was taking 2 teenagers and the wrap around balcony doubled our square footage. That sounded great! The week before our stay, I received an email stating our balcony may be uses at times for maintenance. The day we arrived there was a notice taped to the sliding glass door with red tape warning not to cross red tape. The large side of the balcony was blocked off the entire week stay by equipment and red tape. Two mornings we awoke to men on our balcony, other days they arrived later. I called twice and emailed once, but never got a response to my request for a partial refund. The wrap around balcony added to the cost of this unit, but it was prohibited from use.
The evening we arrived we realized we did not have sheets for the pull out sofa. The next morning I called to request sheets, and discuss the balcony. Sheets did arrive later that day. I love the beach and had not been to stay at one in about 5 years. I splurged on the Penthouse, so yes, I was disappointed when we were not allowed to enjoy it.

The check-in and check-out process was easy. The air conditioner was not working when we arrived. We called the after hours emergency number for Bender and they were quick to send someone out to evaluate the situation and had it fixed by later that evening. The condo is in a great location, right next to the Gulf State Park, which is a less crowded part of the beach. The view from the deck is fantastic (the deck is large), but unfortunately for us, halfway through our stay they began construction and crammed all of the furniture into one corner, placing large construction equipment and limiting our use of the deck to a very small area right in front of sliding doors. Overall, the condo was small for the price paid and in need of some TLC.
In the bedroom, part of the ceiling is hanging, and the carpeting in the bedroom is dirty and needs to be either professionally cleaned or removed.

WiFi in living room goes in and out! When air conditioning comes on it is loud and keeps us awake. We had to buy box fan and run sound machine to block noise coming from building. Mattress doesn’t have washable cover! Needs keyless entry! OVERPRICED

Our stay was in general pretty good but there were several needed minor updates that really need addressed.
The negatives-
-The front lock latch was completely broken making it difficult at times to even open the door without sticking your hand in and moving it.
- The lock to the patio appeared to never work at all. It didn’t latch either way which could be a problem since there’s a separate door to get onto the large patio that could lead to yours.
- The bunk beds need major repairs. They are so creeky. The entire stay the kids were afraid they would cave in because of how noisy they were. The ladder was wobbly and the guardrail has a crack and was shaky as well.
- Minor things were given to you such as one pack of dishwasher fluid, one pack of detergent, which is lovely but you would think ONE coffee filter would be supplied. We stopped on the way down out of town to reduce exposure to the virus and got all our groceries and upon waking the first morning noticed there wasn’t even one filter supplied which I’ve never had happen while renting a condo. We had to rush to find a Starbucks for that day and then a grocery again.
- The lounge chair cushions need new cushions. They were so dirty and had webs over them. We didn’t use them.
The positives-
- There were several linens supplied.
- The view was amazing.
- The extra deck space was nice and beautiful.
- The location of the condo was very quiet.
- The grounds and pool area were kept very clean.
- The condo was generally very clean.
- Most amenities were up to date
- If youve never stayed at this location you’ll be pleased with the location. It’s away from everyone but 2 minutes to the action.

Plenty of room to keep beach toys, towels and overflow from 6 girls and the view is spectacular! Could use more outdoor furniture to utilize the space.The kitchen was equipped with everything you need to cook a full meal. The folks at Bender Realty were a pleasure to work with and answered all my questions, plus kept me up to date on all the details. Not just with text and emails but actually called to talk. This was our first stay in Gulf Shores but not our last.

We make a couple trips to the Gulf every year and have stayed at Royal Palms numerous times. We love the location of the property next to the state park and the easy access to all of the restuaurants in the area. We also love Royal Palms overall and, in particular, the pool and hot tub, the steam room and the cleanliness of the property. There are issues, however, that I wish management would address. The ceiling tiles above the pool are in sorry need of replacement and repair. Several tiles have been down since at least October of '18 and it looks very tacky. The floor could also stand a good pressure-washing. As for 1407, the westward-facing view is fantastic for watching the sunset and the huge wrap-around balcony is wonderful. That being said, the lounge chairs need to be replaced. They are rusty and have no cushions and I badly scraped my leg on one of them. The interior of the unit is clean but also needs some work. The ceiling fans are extremely noisy, there is no screen in the screen door, the trash can lid is broken, and the internet connection is awful. I also don't understand the refrigerator door that opens towards the kitchen area. You have to step into the hallway to open the door as you cannot reach anything inside if you are standing in the kitchen. Finally, I wish there was more of a security guard presence. The past few times we have been there people have been drinking alcohol in the pool area and playing music, both of which are against property rules. We have never complained about that before nor did we this time but it is annoying that it continues. Another huge concern for me this trip was that people in the unit adjacent to 1407 were smoking marajauna on the balcony the first two days of the trip. THAT should not be tolerated at all. Again, I should have called and complained but as they left on Monday I did not.

We loved Royal Palms #1407! Great location, so close to the beach! Nothing beats eating breakfast and looking out to see dolphins! Excellent balcony, although it was too windy to enjoy while we were there in March/April. Everything is in good repair. Highly recommend!! (One thing - the bunk beds really are meant for "kids." My 5'8" daughter slept diagonally in one of them, but my taller son opted for the pullout bed instead.)

The weather was prefect , the condo was great as always..... We spent 2 full days at the pier and saw everything imaginable in the waater esp. at night, and the morning we were leaving I actually got to watch the Great Turtle volunteers release baby sea turtles into the gulf . There is no better place than Gulf Shores and The Royal Palms . We'll be back in May :)

We have stayed in this condo three times. Was disappointed that it had not been redecorated yet after being told it would be. The decor needs to be lightened up. Beachy turquoise, greens, and blues would be Nice! Also, needs a screen on the sliding doors. The deck really is the best though.

What a great condo and great location. Right next to the State Park Pier and no crowds on the beach. The balcony is large with both shaded and sunny areas. Great for several couples to stay and gather at night for visiting or entertaining.
Condo has everything you could need. The Lazy Boy Sofa bed was so comfortable.
Will definitely be back !!!!!

My husband and I had an amazing getaway in Gulf Shores! This beachfront penthouse was budget friendly and had breathtaking views. The penthouse was pretty clean in all, although a good carpet cleaning in the bedroom would not hurt. The bedroom was a bit crowded with the decor, but if you don't mind side stepping between the bed and armoire or climbing across the bed to get to the other side, you'll be fine. The livingroom/dining/kitchen wall color is a bit darker than my taste for beach feel, but in all we weren't really there to stay cooped up in the condo so I can't complain. We arrived October 30th and departed November 2 and had 2 days of good weather before storms moved in on our final day.. We would definitely recommend this unit to anyone that wants to fall in love with the beach life ? Thank you for a very memorable honeymoon/anniversary getaway.

The unit's view is AMAZING!! That's what made us book this particular unit. The huge balcony is a major plus. The unit is a little outdate but not a big deal to us since we were there to spend time on the beach. It had basic kitchen appliances. Clean. Our 5 year old loved the indoor pool! Great experience with Bender Realty.

My husband and I came to Gulf Shores to celebrate my 50 th Birthday. We had a terrific time. We stayed at the Royal Palm on the 14th floor. We were able to watch and experience a lot of marine life. We actually got to watch sea turtles being born. Bender Realty were a joy to work with booking our condo and we plan on using them the next time.

This was my second stay at the Royal Palms, and I was lucky enough to get the west penthouse. We were on the 6th floor last year. The view from the penthouse unit is spectacular. The unit was clean. If I were making suggestions to the owners, I would update the decor a little to be more " that I mean lighter colors for the walls and furnishings, and perhaps upgrade the outdoor patio furniture to a padded love seat and chairs. Minor things though, as it looks fine. Need a bit bigger TV in the living area, and a DVD player would be nice. The great thing about Royal Palms is being next to the State Park makes it less crowded on the beach. Pool was fine, as was the hot tub. Convenient to all good places to eat. I will be back!! The only reason I did not give 5 stars is the decor and a very minor wastebaskets in the bathrooms, but no big deal.

Royal Palms 1407 was just stunning. The inside was beautiful just as the pictures showed. Well stocked kitchen if you plan on cooking (I would bring a good knife). The view from the wrap around balcony is stunning. Last condo in Gulf Shores. State Pier is just a short walk. Found lots of shells on our daily walks. Lists as a 6 person condo-3 or 4 would fit comfortably. Bender staff is always so sweet! They are the reason we rented again this year from Bender Realty. Only trouble we had was the front door was hard to lock/unlock, but that was just us not being used to that type lock. You can't go wrong with this condo and Bender Realty.

The best thing about this apartment is the enormous, private wrap around balcony and great views. Condo was nicely decorated and kitchen was furnished with all the standard things you would need to make most food. We ate in a lot so appreciated the well equipped kitchen although we could have used a pan and pot or two more since we did do so much cooking. Bathroom in the master bedroom is small. Hallway bathroom is somewhat larger. The only clock in the whole condo was on the microwave. It would be nice if there was one in the bedroom and waste paper baskets in the bathrooms. Location on the beach was great. The pier at the State park was within easy walking distance. Restaurants and shopping centers were very close by. We enjoyed walking down the beach to the Sea N Suds for lunch. Food and service there was very good. Outdoor pool was cold, indoor pool was an inviting temp and jacuzzi was hot! We enjoyed our beach vacation in Gulf Shores and would recommend a stay at the Royal Palms, especially this particular unit because of the unique balcony feature.

We were very pleased with our stay. Beautiful view from the balcony. Place is small but it was just two of us so it worked out well. Sea N Suds on the beach is within walking distance but unless your looking for a workout I would drive anywhere else. Place was clean other than foot pedal on trash can was broke so you had to open dirty metal lid with your hands. Last time we had stayed at crystal shores which was very nice but for the money this was a better deal. Any questions about anything you can always call the ladies at Bender they are very helpful.

Overall, the condo we rented was in good condition. The ceiling fan in the bedroom is in need of repair as well as the stoppers for the bathroom sinks. The ceiling fan light would not turn off so we had to unscrew light bulbs to run the fan as we slept. It made noise and was disruptive. This should be replaced. Other than that, the unit was fine.

The view was great. The inside was small and very crowded with a lot of furniture. Very cramped. The outdoor balcony was fabulous but not clean. There were cigarette butts and beers cans in the flower pots. And no internet access. The furnace filter was clogged. All in all it was okay. But it could be better cleaned. It would also be a lot roomer if they removed some furniture.

loved our stay overall. very disappointed that the heater in the hot tub wasnt working since it was too cold for the outside pool and even the indoor pool wasnt warm enough. out of the 8 light fixtures in the condo, needed 4 light bulbs - picked them up at the Bender Realty office without any problems. simply loved Betty Daniels - she was most pleasant to work with and made us wanta return in the future. whether the same condo or not wont matter, but definitely will contact Bender Realty again.

This was our 10th year visiting Gulf Shores for spring break so we obviously love it.

The only negative things would be that there were no spare light bulbs. One bulb in the bedroom (side table) light was just missing and the other burned out. Also there is only one table lamp in the main living area so unless you want to be blinded by the ceiling fan light there isn't enough ambient light. Also, the little hallway leading up to the condo had several BIG water bug carcasses which freaked me out and one semi alive one inside the condo when you first walked in. But I will say those were the only ones I saw. No other little visitors, so phew :) Loved the condo, Love Gulf Shores and the weather was PERFECT! We'll be back!

The view was amazing and the location was perfect for the things we like to do at Gulf Shores. Staff at Bender Realty was excellent. They gave us good information about local businesses we wanted to visit.

We have always used Bender Realty when staying in Gulf Shores and wouldn't think of using any other company. The property we stayed at this time was perfect for my wife and I. I only hope it will be available the next time we are able to come to Gulf Shores.

The Royal Palms Condos are the BEST location on the Beach... We had to stay out of the water and stay back a little ways on the beach, but overall we still had a GREAT time!! There is NO smell at the beach.. the view is still beautiful, the waves were huge this year and we wish we were still there!!!!!! There is plenty to do with the various attractions ( we love Waterville.. all the waterslides, wave pool, rollercoaster, lazy river, putt putt golf, go carts.. No where else can you go ALL DAY for $30... The State Park put on a fantastic fireworks show from the pier.If you have not made plans then do and if you have them, then keep them.. They need our support in the bad times much as the good times. Gulf Shores has given us SO MANY great vacations that we did not mind a VERY SMALL sacrifice.We are SOOOOO VERY GLAD we went!! God Bless to all the vendors and residents who depend on our tourism every year!
