Have been staying at the Sandpiper for 30 years. Have stayed in almost every unit but I've been coming back to 14A now for the last 4 years because its one of my favorites. The kitchen setup is perfect for our large group. The condo could use a few updates. Mainly the beds are not the greatest. The master bathroom toilet seat does not stay up and the vent in the master bathroom is falling out and could use a cleaning. The showers are not updated like some of the other condos but overall we don't mind because we enjoy this condo so much and will continue to stay in 14A.

Manager's Response

We truly appreciate your repeat patronage of Sandpiper and unit 14A! Thank you for your input - we will be in touch with the owner. We can't wait to see you again in the future!

Definite Recommendation!

We stayed in 14A and it was absolutely perfect. The location was amazing, right on the beach with beautiful views and easy access. The pool was large, clean, warm, and always had plenty of chairs available around it, which we really appreciated. We especially loved the palm trees surrounding the pool area. The condo itself was spotless and even smelled clean when we walked in. The beds were comfortable, the washer and dryer worked great, and the kitchen was stocked with all the gadgets and essentials you could need during your stay. The entire complex felt very family-oriented, which we loved. Everyone seemed respectful of the rules, and it stayed quiet at night with no noise issues at all. Communication was top tier from start to finish. I had asked about the possibility of early access if the room was ready, and I received a response almost immediately. We were so thankful to be able to get into the room early after traveling. 10/10 stay for our family. We would absolutely stay here again and will definitely recommend it to friends and family.

Manager's Response

We are thrilled that you had such a wonderful time! Sandpiper is a terrific, family-friendly property, and 14A, located on the first floor with great pool and beach views is the greatest. Be sure to reach out when you are ready for your next Gulf Coast and Sandpiper getaway!

Unit 14A needs a complete upgrade.

The furniture inside 14A was terrible. The master bedroom mattress needs to be replaced. You can feel every spring in the mattress. The couch in the living room is completely worn out. In both bathrooms the drains in the sink and bathtubs were broken. The ceiling fan in the living room would barely turn on all speeds. The satellite tv did not work on any of the TV’s. The bedroom TV’s were the size of a laptop screen. We love sandpiper and have stayed for many years. Very disappointed with this until.

Manager's Response

We appreciate your repeat patronage. Thank you for your input; we are in touch with the owner, who is currently making plans for updates. Your comments will be helpful as she makes decisions on how to plan those updates. Please know that you can always reach out for assistance on things such as the TVs and drains. We welcome the chance to assist you in planning your next Sandpiper visit.

Sandpiper 14A was great for my family of 6. It was spacious and convenient to everything. The only thing I would change would be to put a king mattress in the Master bedroom. The queen was comfortable, but we just prefer a bigger bed. Our vacuum was not working and although there was a broom in our unit, there was no dust pan. As soon as I reached out to Bender, they were super quick to resolve that problem dropping off a new vacuum and a dustpan. The AC in the unit was incredible! We have had issues with past units in the thick of Summer, but the condo stayed super cool. I loved how close we were to the pool and we enjoyed the chairs on the deck for our morning coffee. Being on the first floor was convenient. We would definitely stay at Sandpiper again. The only reason I wouldn’t give it 5 stars was because of the queen bed in the master. Like I stated above, we prefer a king. Everything else was perfect!

Manager's Response

We're so glad that you enjoyed this Sandpiper unit on the first level and close to the beach. Please reach out when you begin planning your next Sandpiper adventure!

14 A is a nice unit. All the basics and reasonably clean. I do wish bedspreads were washed in between bookings. Love the location over the pool, and the quick hop to the beach. The drastically narrower beach, but I hear that there is a restoration project starting soon. We have been staying at the Sandpiper for 35+ years. Now enjoying it with kids and grandkids and family friends. Perfect place for 3 generations.

Our family has been coming to the sandpaper for about 15 years maybe...we stay in a lot of different rooms here. 14A has been one of them...it’s a great location by the pool on the lowest level....best room for location....only get miring sun and no evening sun...the MAIN thing to us is the carpet needs to come out and the master bed mattress might be to be replaced. It also, when we first entered the room, smelled pretty musty or had a mildew odor...needs some new vent covers and there was no vent cover in extra bath. No major issues I guess...but the carpet is horrible! We will continue to stay at Sandpiper but will request another room! Same level and close to pool!

14A is a pretty cool place to stay. Being on the first floor definitely has pros and cons. But really the only con is if you have heavy feet or kiddos staying above you. I was worried about "the view" being on the first floor but was pleasantly surprised.
Only complaints would be when we arrived the tile floor was pretty sticky. But honestly that could be from people spraying their sunscreen.
And wasn't quite sure who to talk to about a couple of 20 somethings who showed up and were loud and completely inappropriate with making out and loud cursing in the pool in front of families with little kiddos. I'm assuming they had a room. They needed to use it.
Overall, Amazing place. I've stayed 3 times in the last 20 years and I love Sandpiper and it's location!! We will be back next year!!

I love Gulf Shores, it is my favorite beach to go to. I have been renting at Sandpiper for 10-15 years. I have stayed at several different condos at Sandpiper over the years. Property is in good condition, very clean, new furniture & mattresses on the beds this year. Bender Realty has always been professional with me, taken care of any issues I've ever had quickly. (5) very satisfied with my stay on all accounts.

Manager's Response

Sandpiper is worth every visit, and we're glad that this year was not different! 14A has a terrific view of the Gulf and lovely pool area.

This is our 6th straight year and the 2nd in 14A. Being on the first floor is so convenient. Beside the pool and only a few steps to the Ocean. Like being on the side where the evening sun does not bake your deck. Everyone is so friendly. Always clean.

Manager's Response

Sandpiper is definitely a fun-filled property, and you are not alone in coming back, year after year. Unit 14A is in a wonderful location, with a great view of the Gulf, as well as the pool and garden area.

I have stayed at Sandpiper every year for about 10 years. The rental units have always been clean. The staff at Bender have always been very helpful & courteous, the 2 times that I had to call for help when something was wrong with the unit, the problem was repaired within a couple of hours. The only issue I have is not with Bender, it would be with some of the other guests that have children. They need to keep their kids under control. Kids were running up & down the stairs, running around all the three floors chasing each other. The kids could have been hurt, or some of the elderly people could have been hurt, had the kids run into them. I love Gulf Shores & Sandpiper!!!

Manager's Response

We truly appreciate your repeat patronage. Sandpiper is indeed a very special place, attracting families and friends, year after year. Its layout is uniquely suited to large groups, as opposed to a condo in which each unit has its own, private balcony.

Other than it taking a bit to get in the condo due to some last minute maintenance, we really enjoyed our stay. The unit was overall accommodating although a little outdated. The Washer/Dryer was updated. We had a fantastic time and have been staying at the Sandpiper for the last 12 years.

14A has a terrfic location on the first floor and close to the Gulf side. The owner is making plans for updates, so contact us as soon as you've got your dates lined up!

Everything about our trip was great! We have stayed at the Sandpiper several times and always love it. This year was the first time we had any problems. The refrigerator did not work properly. We called for service about 10:00 pm after purchasing $350.00+ in groceries and were told by the tech that he probably couldn't come that night. We called again the next morning and a tech came, spent 5 min. checking the temp (48 degrees) and said it would be fine. It was not fine. My husband fixed the refrigerator himself once we realized we would not get any help and would probably lose our groceries. The stove in the unit also needs attention but, after the fiasco with the fridge, we didn't even bother to call. So not at all happy with response from the service side. For $1800.00 a week, we do have certain expectations. But the office staff are wonderful to deal with and are always very nice and helpful. We did re-book the same unit for next year so, hopefully, the appliance issues will have been resolved by the time we return. We loved the abundance of furniture in the unit so that we could all sit comfortably together in the evenings and the view was great! Overall, this unit is great and we really liked it very much. Looking forward to returning next year!

First, let me say The Bender Realty staff is 1st class! We have stayed at The Sandpiper for 17 years now and they have always went out of their way to accommodate our needs.
14A - Pros - new kitchen cabinets and counter top was nice update. The condo was clean and the tile floor is nice.
Cons- The bedrooms need major updating! Bedding is out of the 70's and the beds are hard as rocks. Bedroom furniture needs updating! Clothing space is inadequate.
Entertainment center needs updating... very small TV and no DVD player! Look at 16B and follow their lead. Nice size flat screens in main room and bedroom. TV's are too cheap not to have this upgrade!!!
Overall... nice condo, but when compared to others and the price you have to pay, needs major updates in bedrooms and entertainment areas!

This condominium was light and airy, although some kitchen chairs were torn and arms of sofas were frayed.
We missed having our 4 condos next to one another.
Kitchen not as well equipped as 6C that we've stayed in before.
Yes, we would recommend.

The toilets were not clean and had mold growing in them when we arrived. Every thin else was fine. Just an oversight I am sure and they were cleaned immediately by the maid even though it was not one of her properties to clean.

I loved the Sand Piper. It is directly on the beach which was very convenient. I loved my beach vacation. The elevator could stand some work, the carts need to be fixed and the night time security guard Paul was very annoying. Other than that the place is awesome. I love the way the condos are set up with a view to the pool.

We love Sandpiper: the location, the building style, the room decor and layout. We have been coming here for a family get-together over 10 years and will continue to do so.
