Description

Sandpiper is a low density three story complex. Its unique V shape building and shared common area walkway in front of each condo lends to a friendly get to know your neighbor atmosphere. Family reunions, large groups of people traveling together and individual families choose this property often. The tropical courtyard, swimming pool and grilling areas give Sandpiper an ambiance all its own. It is a highly requested property and has the most repeat guests.

The condo has all the amenities you would need. Updated appliances. Ice maker is slow to make ice. Condo needs a broom for the floor. Beach rental chairs need to not take the entire beach front so the patrons can have access as well. There were 31 people in our group with 8 condos and we could not get a set in the front row.

This is not our first stay in 13A. Very nice and clean. Loved the newer larger washer and dryer which was a nice change from the older/smaller set. Loved the new bathroom showers. Also had new microwave and oven. We have been coming to the Sandpiper since the 80's and will definitely continue to stay there.

This is almost what seems to be a “retirement,” condo? They do have a quiet time which starts at 10pm as far as the security guard told us. We weren’t allowed to be outside, or on the beach either apparently. We weren’t even supposed to sit on the deck and talk amongst ourselves. But it’s a beautiful condo, nonetheless. I just wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who is younger than 50.

Sandpiper is indeed a beautiful property, with 13A a lovely unit from which to enjoy the beach and Gulf Shores community. Our Sandpiper guests are certainly permitted to enjoy the facilities in the evening hours, although, for the enjoyment of all guests, respectful quiet is asked of all. Everything was great. The bathroom updates were wonderful.
Only drawback is the bedding. This is the 3rd year we have recommended having new bedding in this unit. Look forward to staying there again in 2023.

The condo was great. The view and beach were beautiful. I was very disappointed that the pool was drained and the pool area closed after asking about the pool 3 different times. Everything worked in the condo as well.

We have stayed at the Sandpiper for years and often in 13A. While most of the amenities were ok, here were the fixable issues that need addressing:

The room was not clean. Bedspreads were filthy and actually changed colors when we washed them. The bathrooms were not clean and required us to clean them.
Carpet was not vacuumed.
The dryer was broken and noisy...we called maintenance and nothing was done.
The second bathroom shower has a drainage issue and has for years. Been reported more than once.

We had a great time in beautiful 13A @ our beloved Sandpiper. We don’t get to come down as often as we would like to Gulf Shores, but when we do we always stay at Sandpiper. It’s our absolute favorite. This was our first stay in unit 13A, it’s very beautiful as well as comfortable. There wasn’t anything that we did not need.
We are hoping to be back very soon !!

We are frequent visitors of the Sandpiper for over 30 years. We had a great stay and loved 13A! Very nice condo. Minor hiccups with housekeeping due to the pandemic and labor shortage. We were understanding of this and Bender Realty did a great job communicating this issue with us.

I made an error in my scheduling dates and the staff at Bender were very quick to help me resolve this issue and reschedule the same room for a different date. I was very grateful!

We will be back!

We loved our rooms and their darling decor! The weather was milder this year but the ocean was mostly wild! While rain was predicted daily we probably had ten minutes in all the whole week. That is so common in gulf shores. We love hitting our favorite restaurants like Cobalts and Oyster House. We discovered Wolf Bay was destroyed in the hurricane last year but reopened at a new location on Gulf Shores Parkway. The food was just as good! We did not miss the burning hot afternoon sand and enjoyed walked barefoot up to the condo when the day was done! See you next time Sandpiper!

We loved staying with Bender. To us, that means "safe". We have used Bender Realty for years. We love the staff and have had perfect experiences. We particularly love the Sandpiper building. The owners take great pride in their condos. This particular condo was no exception. The beds were comfortable, the condo was clean, and everything worked perfectly.

We felt the condo generally met our criteria for the price point we wanted to be at. Met our basic family needs, but, nothing above and beyond. Very nice location on the beach. Average cleanliness.
Was told there was a sleeper couch and there was not one. The hot water temperature ran out very quickly during showers. Ice maker and air conditioning were loud. Older pots and pan and minimal utensils for cooking.
Would recommend property with what to expect.

Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay. Sandpiper is a great condo unit, with a great set up. We were very satisfied with the property’s general condition. The location of the property is wonderful. The condo property is clean and well kept. The rental management company is very helpful and kind. Easy to work with. The cleanliness of the condo was pretty good.
I would recommend that scooters or any type of item with wheels not be allowed on the decks of the condos. Not only were they noisy, they are inconsiderate to the other guests staying there who are staying at the condos trying to relax or visit with others. Also, riding them after quiet hours up and down the decks was irritating. Besides the scooter situation we had a wonderful time and a great stay in Gulf Shores at The Sandpiper! We will definitely be back!

Scooters and such items are NOT permitted on the balconies at Sandpiper, and as soon as it was reported to us, security was sent immediately to stop their use. Great unit, super easy access to beach and pool. Can sit on the deck and watch your kids play in the pool, and be close enough to yell to them.
Great for families. Only downside of the stay is that a large youth group was staying across the way and played loud music outside their unit and was very loud late into the night. Also times when other people were playing loud music at the pool during the day when we preferred to relax low key. That probably happens everywhere, though.

Bender Really was very helpful with reserving the condo plus all of the questions I had. The condo was very neat and clean. Will recommend this place to other families I know. One item that should be checked is the bathtub drain in the 1st bathroom runs slow, seems to be clogged.

Another amazing week at the Sandpiper. Our only concern was TV issues with room that bender realty tried to fix. And a few items were taken during the night, flip flops for us and others things from friends we were with. Never havr had that bbq in 30+ years. Overall fantastic week and we will return.

We had four persons occupy this unit over a four day weekend. One person utilized the pull out sofa with both ease and comfort. All appliances were in great working order, and we had all the plates, bowls, glasses, cups and utensils we needed. The WiFi was excellent and the television was in good working order. We experienced no maintenance issues while in the unit. I would gladly use it again.

We had a group of 30 that came to see my youngest daughter get married on the beach.All the rooms were a little different but all were large enough for us to do what we needed. They were basically clean, could have used a little elbow grease around floorboards and on the walls but I'm a clean freak so that just may be me. We had an amazing time the entire week. All our neighbors were kind and joined in on the celebration.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Sandpiper and have already recommended to several people. Sandpiper is located right on the Gulf and has an excellent view of the beach. The property is well kept up and clean. The location is close to many choices of restaurants, area attractions, and beautiful sunsets. Bender Realty staff are very friendly and very helpful. I especially enjoyed Lulu's for a hamburger, DeSoto's for fish, Mikee's for shrimp. and Hog Wild BBQ for pulled pork sandwiches.

We have been vacationing at the Sandpiper for over 17 yrs. Sometimes we have been there twice in one year. It is a wonderful place to enjoy the beach. The complex is perfect for a couple or for an entire family. In fact, we have already reserved a condo for 2015.

The door entering the condo was very difficult to lock. You had to pull up on the door knob to lock the door. Everything else was great. Great location!

Beautiful remodeled condo (only thing not updated was carpet in bedrooms) great location- close to everything, but far enough down the strip to have a less crowded beach. Condo is located close to stairs that lead to the beach. Well stocked - had everything we needed. Only things that would make it better- would be keyless entry (keycode)- the lock was difficult to open & a large mat by the door when you first walk in to help keep sand from being tracked through condo. Pool was smaller than we thought, but plenty big enough for kids to have a blast. Bahama Bob's is right down the street & has the BEST food!!! We will definitely stay in this condo again.

This was our fourth visit to Sandpiper 13A, and it was a great vacation filled with lasting memories. We were especially pleased with the many updates to this unit, including a completely renovated kitchen.

I would describe our vacation stay at 13A somewhat disappointing. Every night the tenants above us in 13B sounded like they were demolishing the place. They would get even louder around midnight. It was very disappointing how rude they were. 13A needs some serious attention given to the appliances and kitchen items. Thank god my wife insisted we bring a few pans and items to make the trip seem a little better. The stove and dishwasher need replaced. Ceiling fans would be nice in the bedrooms. The tile floors are cracked in several places, not a big deal but makes the place look cheap.

13A could use a new tv in living rm & A new couch.

Overall, we were very happy with our stay. The kids loved the heated pool and most units allow a view of the pool to keep an eye on the kids. The unit itself needed some updating with the appliances and pots and pans. Not a big deal though. We have already booked for next year.

We have stayed at sandpiper several times and have always been pleased. Our stay this time was great all except for the Spring breakers above us. We did not get sleep and they were in and out at all times of the night and early morning not to mention the fact we could hear them getting sick in the restroom!!! I thought this was more of a family oriented place to stay and that is why we continue to stay here. We will think hard about coming back in the spring if you continue to rent to college age. Other than the spring break incident we love sandpiper!!!

We had an excellant experience. All the families at the Sandpiper were extremely friendly. The staff at Bender was fantastic. We would like to say that our 32nd anniversary dinner at Wolf Bay Lodge was outstanding. We hope to return in the future!

Our family has spent the last 10 years out of 11 at Sandpiper for our family reunion and have enjoyed our stay here. This year there was a minor problem with the air conditioner but the mantinance man can out late in the evening and fixed the problem. The Bender Realty staff was very helpful and courteous and we had a great time. Looking forward to next year!

Bendor is wonderful to work with. Always helpful. The maintenance person was very helpful in returning our call and taking care of the issue.
The mattress in the master bedroom really needs to be replaced immediately, very uncomfortable. Everything else was fine.

The only concern we had was that they allowed guests to set up their cabanas in front of the rented beach chairs thus blocking our view and access to the water. We understand that other properties prohibit the cabanas from being placed in front of the line of rental chairs. This rule was either not in place or not enforced at Sandpiper. If other properties can enforce the location of the cabanas, we would think the Sandpiper could do so as well. Please consider making this a rule and thereby giving a copy of the rule to guests when they check in. Other than that, we love the Sandpiper.
