Description

"Gulf Tower 1B, located at 1051 West Beach Boulevard, is a two bedroom, two bathroom, lower floor condo with amazing beach front views and access. Furnishings are standard, somewhat dated. This unit contains queen size beds in both the master and guest suites. A sleeper sofa in the living room adds additional space for guests, accommodating 6 guests comfortably. With a full kitchen and washer and dryer in the condo, you will have the comforts and amenities of home while you are away. This unit has two TVs and a VCR. Don’t forget to spend sometime lounging on the enclosed balcony that you can open up to enjoy all the sights, sounds and scents of the Gulf of Mexico!

Gulf Tower is in a prime Gulf Shores location. 1.5 miles from the popular Hangout and public beaches and 3 miles to the Gulf State Park & Pier. Not to mention the proximity to all the best dining and shopping this island has to offer! With its amazing beach front location access to the our white sandy beaches is a breeze! Aside from the fantastic coastal views, there is also an outdoor pool, BBQ grills, exercise room, and free WiFi in the Club Room for your use and pleasure. This location does have an elevator for ease of access throughout the building.

I’ll start by saying I love this building and Bender Realty. The location and proximity to the beach is amazing. The people at Bender are amazing. I’ve stayed at other units in this building it is an older building, the units are older units and usually dated units. We immediately noticed the ceiling fans were dusty like really dusty. There was dried jam still on the kitchen table. I can’t even explain what is going on with the ceilings in bathrooms and kitchen but I spent a hour making sure there weren’t hidden cameras. This unit was just not cleaned properly. It was “dated” as we expected but there was a tub that never drained properly. The hot water lasted 10 mins max in shower. The beds were probably the worst I’ve ever seen in a rental. Good thing we aren’t TV people. We never cook at rentals but I’m sure the Goodwill/2nd hand thrift few items that were in the kitchen would have sufficed. On the plus side lots or drawer space to put your items and amazing views. Great pool and beach access. Don’t rent 1B there are nicer units in this building at same or close to same rate.

We’ve been coming to Gulf Tower since the 90’s and have always had good experiences. It has the best ocean side pool and largest pool deck that we could find. Even when full it rarely feels crowded. The building has been undergoing renovation and these are good but taking far too long. Only one elevator has been available of the two on our last 3-4 visits. Also 1C is my wife and my favorite unit when we come by ourselves or with kids but we’re beginning to tire of some of its shortcomings. The bathroom ceiling tiles have been missing forever. There’s no dishwasher or laundry but we’ve been able to overlook those two issues for the quaint ambiance and the price we get. However, for a beach vaca place to stay, one could expect more towel racks! There’s plenty of places yet 1C only has one !!! Ridiculous! Even the second sink, which is a nice touch, has no rack. This may seem minor but draping damp towels over furniture and wherever possible sucks! It makes you notice other minor issues like sliding glass doors that stick and ceiling fan on awesome balcony that doesn’t allow fan to run without light being on. Very annoying when you want to sit out at night without having every movement viewable from the beach. Lastly, the key fob required to get into the pool area from building and beach is the worst!!! Only one fob per unit and takes to hands to open. Pitiful for beach goers especially with small grandchildren. All things easy to fix if owners have a hoot. Bender is GREAT to work with so owners will be to blame if we go elsewhere.

Our stay was amazing. Elevator issues on 1 .5 days other than that awesome. Close beach access. Unable to use a tent on beach anymore, but not resorts fault. Highly refined, we can't wait to book out next stay!

I put a review on the house too!
Great location...l could watch my kids play on the beach while relaxing on the glass enclosed balcony.we loved the balcony and ate all our dinners there...on the beautiful dining table there. The table needs to have it's legs adjusted though. Loved the house layout and the kitchen was equipped with everything we need to enjoy all our meals as we did not plan to eat out or travel anyway. I was able to make pizza, roast meat, make veggies, salads, bake etc plus very nice serving and dinner set.
The house was clean but that carpet has to go!!! No matter how much it's stinks and does not feel good when you step on it with all the humidity. The wet carpet smell and the color just over powers the nice features of the house.
Also it would be nice if Bender puts a lockbox on the house instead of requiring guests to pass by your office. A lockbox with keys inside on the the guest gets a code by phone and accesses the house. On departure they put keys back in lockbox and leave ...no need to pass by your office again. The staff was nice and very detailed but that could all be skipped by using a lockbox at the house door.

We enjoyed the complex. The building and pool are much closer to the beach/gulf than other places we've stayed, which made walking out to the beach much easier. We were disappointed in the condition and amenities of the condo. It's in need of some maintenance overall. The second bedroom doesn't have a tv and the main bedroom tv doesn't have a remote. Since we didn't come to the beach for tv, we were fine without that. However, I could see this being a disappointment for future renters. The master bath shower head was broken and the faucet in the main bath was running nonstop when we arrived. We called Bender and they took care of the issues with the showers as soon as possible. The staff at Bender are always friendly and helpful! We really liked that the balcony was enclosed with doors. The condo was spacious and had plenty of dishes, silverware, etc.

Bender Realty was great to work with. They sent text to update me on the rental process. Although I rented from VRBO it was with Bender. Didn't realize until I got credit card bill that I had to pay a VRBO fee. It was charged separately. Won't do that again. Description of condo was "dated and it definitely was! Had carpet which had seen better days and was not for our family which had crawling babies. Gulf Tower is the perfect location!

I loved the location of this place, right on the beach with great views, very roomy & everyone wasn’t crammed like a normal hotel. The staff at the check in location are very nice. Room was clean. Close drive to The Hangout. The beds weren’t to comfortable but it’s a lovely place & I'd stay again.

Bender Realty was exceptional to work with; they immediately fixed issues we encountered. The condo has a great view and close proximity to the pool and beach. However, the condo really needs updates: stained furniture, cabinets are tearing up, sliding door wouldn't stay shut/locked, master toilet rocks, carpet tearing at tile, etc.

I took my mother and sister in law to Gulf Shores snd stayed in Gulf Towers. It was perfect. We were on the first floor right above the pool. The ocean was steps from the pool. The town was clean and beautiful. The condo fit are needs beautifully. The beds were comfy and so was the couch. It was a dated but we were aware of that and would have been just fine if the weather turned bad.
We purchased another skillet because there was just one and we brought laundry stuff and extra paper products. Worked out great.

We stayed here because our friends were in another condo on same building.
The building is extremely run down and dirty. Hallways, staircases and exterior needs paint and repair. The condo itself needed replacement of utensils and pans. They were old, broken and missing. Vents were dusty. That being said, the location was great, close to everything we needed and very short distance to get to the beach. Pool was nice and seemed clean although we didn’t use it. Do

Overall a good room and a good stay. We did have a few issues with cleanliness. The ceiling fan and 2nd bedroom fan were coated with dust affecting air quality. The main door handle leading into the room was loose, causing difficulty opening with key. Some door handles inside the room were also loose. Some wall sockets need to be replaced and our appliances frequently fell out of the socket. The glass kitchen table had a wobble making meals difficult. The unit had a very high water pressure leading to uncomfortable showers. The room needs some renovations, but overall it was a good room and the service from property staff was great.

We love the location of Gulf Towers condos. However, we stayed in Unit 1B about 7 years ago and the condo does not seem to have changed since that time - mattress in second bedroom was totally shot - could not sleep on it. Even tried putting the comforter under sheet and that did not help. Extremely musty smell throughout - had to buy spray for entire visit - mildew on inside shower curtains - overall think this unit needs much updating to be more in-line with the price charged.

We absolutely loved our stay here. The location couldn't be better, the apartment could use an update to the decor but the beds are comfortable, the kitchen is well stocked and the AC is nice and cold. The only thing we didn't like was that you have to bring the key-fob to get into the pool and to the beach but that's being picky.

The property was pretty outdated but clean. It was as pictured on the site. Management company was pleasant. Condo had all of the cooking utensils and pans. The Security guard was a bit overzealous. Our door was open (the drafts are very stong) for 7 hours and the security guard said "did you mean to leave your door open, its been open all day". I don't understand why she didn't close the door...or do something to mitigate our door being open for 7/8 hours. Walls were thin and we heard people playing loud music well past 10PM.

Accept for the construction on Windows our experience was enjoyable. We chose this condo especially for the Windows to close when cool or open when warm, aBUT even tho our unit was done they still wouldn't let us open the sliders. We would try it again.

The property location was wonderful and I don't think we could have asked for more. The unit we rented was godd, it could use some updating and renovation. The photos showed the balcony chairs having cushions but when we arrived they were not present and we did not contact the rental company to find out where they were because we had brought camping chairs with us. The table and chairs on the balcony need to be upgraded, the table and chairs were the plastic type and should be something more supportive and stronger. The pictures posted online showed 2 bamboo type chairs with cushions and when we arrived no cushions and could not find them. There was what seemed to be a closet on the balcony but we did not have a key to access it which might have contained the chair cushions. There was hand soap provided but might want to consider providing guests with the pump hand soap instead of bar soap. Those are only minor things that we found that could be improved on. Overall we loved the location and other amenities the condo provided. It was great that we could take photo's from our balcony of the sunrise, sunset, dolphins and pelicans. It was great to be able to buy fresh seafood and prepare our dinner meals and eat our freshly prepared seafood dinners on the balcony overlooking the gulf. If the opportunity ever arises we will definitely go back.

We had a pleasant stay in gulf tower 1b, the unit could use some updating, such as new furniture and kitchen accessories (need new pots and pans, and the toaster only toast one side of the bread, etc.)as for the security guard, she pretty much questions you about your parking passes on a nightly bases, even though u just talked to her, at one point two of the kids (both 13) were playing in the pool and i walked in the pool area from the parking garage and noticed she was just staring at them in the pool with her arms crossed, when i showed up she again questioned me about my parking pass for the 3rd night and left the area, i understand that she is trying to keep the place safe i suppose, but it felt like a bit much. As for every thing else about the stay it was great! We love the area, great access to every thing you could need, and great view of the gulf! We will most likely stay again.

Condo needs updating,paint, carpet, counter tops.The condo was not real clean but ok.When the rental agency is ask if the condo has something(internet) and E-mail confirmed it does, but it doesn't, WELL. We could of rented a different condo.

Overall the experience was great, the location of Gulf Tower is excellent. Easy access to beach and only 1 mile from main area of Gulf Shores. Pool was perfect. On the negative side the complex has very limited parking (one car per unit) and the condo it self is older and in need of modern updates, but did meet all our needs.

This was our second time using Bender Realty to book our vacation. The staff was great, very nice and helpful. The condo was in a great location and had a great view of the beach. Last year we stayed at The Caribbean, but chose Gulf Tower this year because of the view from the master bedroom. The only thing I would recommend changing about this room would be to have a TV in the second bedroom. With 3 kids that normally watch TV to go to sleep, it was a little difficult but they survived. Other than that we had a great experience and were 100% satisfied. We can't until our next beach vacation!!!!

Very nice clean condo located on great beach front. We've never stayed on that end of the beach but will def do it again. We've always stayed in one of the Phoenix but this condo def was def as good as the Phoenix but not as expensive. Will def be stayin here again.

I have been renting through Bender since the early 1999's. They are always friendly and professional. Jennie and Betty are the best. This specific property could use a deep clean and upgrades. We had trouble with oven, microwave and dishwasher. Other than that we love the size of 1B & 1C together and the location. As always, we'll be back next year!

My experience with Benders was very good. When I arrived, they did not have my reservation, when I produced my confirmation # it was found that whomever booked for me booked in the year 2011; so Gulfside Townhomes was not available to us; I had paid a downpayment, so Benders made good and provided a beautiful condo in Gulf Towers. Excellent stay; Benders handled wonderfully.

Overall was very satisfied with out stay. Great location, condo was clean and comfy. Kitchen stocked with all the dishes needed for our stay. There were only two issues with the condo. The water drains a little slowly in the tubs. So we were standing in ankle deep water by the time showers were finished. The other was the elevators were extremely slow. Luckly we were on the first floor so we took the stairs most of the time. But, overall only minor inconveniences. I would definately recommend this Condo and would come back again.

Hangout Fest Weekend @ Gulf Towers

I rented a condo for the Hangout Fest weekend several months in advance. The original unit was about 0.5 miles from the festival (Island Royale), on the 14th floor, beach front - overlooking the ocean, and allowed two vehicles to park. I was contacted by Bender about a month after securing the condo and notified that it was no longer available and that I was being moved to another unit further down the road. Thankfully there was an available unit close the festival as it was now only 3-4 weeks away and most places were booked. The new unit was 1.5 miles from the venue (Gulf Towers), on the 1st floor, beach front - overlooking the ocean, and only allowed one vehicle to park. Bender provided us with a parking pass so that our 2nd vehicle could park at their office about two blocks away. They also comped us one night for the inconvenience. When we checked in, we inquired about the previous unit was were told that it went into foreclosure and was removed from the rental program. For beach property, our new condo was average; comparable to the rate. The towels were thin and cheap feeling but the bed was comfortable. We usually bring our own pillows on trips. The kitchen was well stocked and the dishes “seemed” clean but we washed them anyway. The pool area was clean and beach access was private. Our only complaint would be the thin walls (could easily hear our neighbors). Since this was a festival weekend, there was an attendant patrolling the parking area to make sure that only residents were parking there. I didn’t see anyone monitoring the pool area and on several mornings there were remnants of late-night partying including someone sleeping on the lounge chairs. Surprisingly, we were never disturbed by the other festival goers. From 10:am to midnight we were either at the beach or at the festival. Our only disturbance came from screaming children playing in the pool at 8:am. If we were not on the 1st floor then it wouldn’t have been an issue.

Overall, pretty satisfied.

The people at Bender Realty were great. Very nice and welcoming. The condo is in a great location. The view is stunning from the living room and master bedroom. Just needs a few touch ups and it would be perfect. We would stay there again.

The rental company was great to work with, but this property had some problems. The guest mattress was very stained, the wicker rocker was very uncomfortable, and when you sat on the couch, you sunk to the floor. HOWEVER, the location was so great that we booked it for next year.

The office was very friendly and helpful during check-in. The condo is right on the beach about a half-mile off the main parkway which is close but not so much that there is a lot of crowding. The condo complex is also fairly small so that is kind of nice as well. The condo was in good condition - by no means immaculate but plenty suitable for most people. The phone needed repair when we were there but it didn't too long and wasn't too big of a deal. The balconies are nice - you can open the doors and feel the sun or close them and stay cool. We were on the first floor - but had no issues with noise from the upper floors. Parking can be a little tight for those of you who drive a large truck or SUV. Overall, we will definitely consider staying here again in the future assuming the pricing is still comparable to other condos around it.

We had a very relaxing and pleasant stay. From the balcony, we had a wonderful view of the ocean, beach, and swimming pool. Due to the building being only 14 floors, we never felt crowded by others. If you are looking for a cozy get away on the beach, this is the place to go. I will definitely go back next year.

We loved the idea of the suite 1a and condo 1b being attached. We were all family members so I was able to enjoy my grandchildren without them being in the condo all the time.

Only one problem, sliding glass door would not slide in 1b. We used the other door from the bedroom, but would have liked the door to slide better.

Pros: Bender Realty-helpful, polite, attentive, fixed things when they said they would, condo: view, space, location, safe, quiet,numerous kitchen supplies, ease of going to beach and pool, elevator, good washer/dryer/fridge/dishwasher, spacious balcony, updates to the outside of Gulf Towers, landscaping
Cons: Condo really beat-up, someone came to check it but air condtioning just didn't function well enough-we had to go purcahase fans to aid it so we could be comfortable, except for couch and rocking chair seat covers looked horrible and need to be replaced-especially balcony seats and table chairs-just embrassingly worn and torn-we just had to grit our teeth and use them-eck!,one car rule made things difficult, bathroom ceilings leaked water as you heard the water flush or turn on sink or shower from above you-another really icky thought!, this condo just needs to have a checklist of updating and fixing before next peak season-just not enough "oh, I love this place" thoughts for the money!I would not ask for this unit again and that makes me sad.
I would use Bender again because you have the best pricing, polite and helpful staff in person and on the phone, and really try to give the guest a good experience.

We stayed 3 nights and all was great, the Bender staff was very helpful and the check in and out process were simple and fast. Beds were comfortable everything worked well only issue was sliding glass door was sticky so was a little hard to open and close. We really enjoyed sitting on the patio under the ceiling fan and watching the waves come in. I would stay here again.

We had a lovely time staying in this condo for the third year in a row. It is located on a beautiful spot on the beach, clean, and has all the amenities that you would expect. We did find that the remote control for the tv in the guest room does not work properly, the toilet paper hanger in the hall bath is missing and the rug in the kitchen needs to be cleaned or replaced due to numerous stains, but otherwise, we have always been very pleased. Oh, also, it's about time to replace that lumpy mattress on the pull-out couch. We look forward to our next trip!

In this unit the master bedroom bed is absolutely horrible. It is extremely uncomfortable probably due to its age and very small for a master bed. All the bedding in this condo was extremely worn and really worn and grubby looking.

The refrigerator in this unit caused concern for frozen food we purchased in bulk. It did not keep ice cubes frozen at all times even at the recommended mid-range settings. Also, we replaced the batteries in two wall clocks and the bedroom remote. The vacuum cleaner bag was packed full of dirt. We were able to find replacement bags in Fairhope at the hardware store. This unit needs a bit attention to details.
