Description

Sandpiper is a low density three story complex. Its unique V shape building and shared common area walkway in front of each condo lends to a friendly get to know your neighbor atmosphere. Family reunions, large groups of people traveling together and individual families choose this property often. The tropical courtyard, swimming pool and grilling areas give Sandpiper an ambiance all its own. It is a highly requested property and has the most repeat guests.

Our experience was very good. We always love coming here and hope to continue the years to come. My only complaint is the unruly and rude kids who came in on the Thursday before we left. Loud, running through condo late at night, riding skate boards on deck and an electric scooter. Running around the property at late hours being loud. No parental control. Thankfully we did not have to deal with that long. But overall it's always a great time.

My sister and her husband had a trip planned to Washington state but due to Covid the trip was canceled at the last minute. Since she had already taken the time off from work, they still wanted to take a trip, and decided to go somewhere south. I had stayed at the Sandpiper condo several years ago and enjoyed it, so I suggested they go there. She asked me to help her make arrangements and to join them. So I googled Sandpiper condo in gulf shores and made arrangements 2 days prior to departure all on my phone. There were several units to choose from being just after spring break and before summer vacation. I chose 6A because it looked very nice in the pictures and because it was halfway between the elevator and the stairs to the beach. The view from the deck was amazing too. The office staff was very friendly and helpful getting our information and codes to us. The unit was very nice and well kept, we were all very pleased. We enjoyed shopping, playing mini golf, go carts. We got one good day at the beach, the rest of time it was cloudy and 2 red flags! So we just enjoyed walking on the beach. On the second day there, the keypad on our door would not always accept the code, and then it got to where we were afraid to all leave at the same time because we might not get back in. I called the office and they sent someone right away. He fixed it quickly and we never had another problem. Overall we had a great time. I can highly recommend using Bender realty and the Sandpiper condominium, we’ll come back for sure.

Have rented Sandpiper condos for years. Very disappointed in a few things with Bender Realty and owners of condo 6A. 1) The carpet is disgusting!! Would not walk on it without shoes. Will not rent this condo again until new flooring is installed.
2) The bath towels provided from Bender Realty are a joke. For the cost of renting the condos, Bender could definitely provide better towels.

Overall: An exceptionally nice place to stay. They apparently had a family reunion there the week we stayed, as the pool area and balconies were rocking most of the time. Our unit, 6A,was great. We had four other family members come over to hangout and there was plenty of room. However, it wasn't "**** n span" clean. Previous guest's underwear in drawer; under the couch and bed hadn't been cleaned in a while; our feet were SO dirty after walking barefoot AFTER showers. The pictures on here show the place quite a bit smaller than it actually was and the decor was spot-on to the pics. Plenty of extra bedding if needed. Location was convenient to everything. I know it's convenient, but the convenient store (Waves) across the street is EXPENSIVE. Crico's has exceptional pizza and sub sandwiches. Rocco's pizza/pub is great as well. Best of all: we were quoted a price of $1,000 but were only charged $850 when we arrived!!

Not just my unit but the other units too. There were over 40 in our group. The design of the property is amazing, we had a huge group doing a Congo line line dancing and singing sweet Caroline! Loved the open concept. Most rooms were NOT clean. Under beds, under dressers, just floors in general were gross. And each bed should have an alternate bedspread so that one is washed each time a new tenant comes in. Not to mention the pressure washing which leaked in the window.

We enjoyed our time greatly. Some minor repairs of the wood trim, a little fresh paint with a couple new chairs (maybe a recliner) would update it nicely. One request I would have is if a condo is vacant for any length of time to have someone come in and clean the toilets prior to new renters. The black growth under the rim and down onto the side of the bowl doesn't give one the "we're happy you're here" kind of feeling. We love our time in 6A and look forward to many more years of our time there.

Overall we always enjoy our stay. We love Gulf Shores. Several main issues I have are, when the renters above us have kids, they are constantly running back and forth through the condo. And all hours of the night. Very annoying and rude. Another issue I have is, when I sit outside my condo to read/relax and enjoy the ocean, whoever stays above us decides they want to clean all the sand off there belongings and therefore I get a bath in sand plus whatever I may be drinking has sand in it. Also the people cleaning will sweep the decks off while people are sitting underneath. Very frustrating. Not sure what a solution would be but I enjoy sitting outside my room and would like to do so without being bathed in sand or even someone emptying a cooler. Also the cleaning crew did not clean the condo like it should have been cleaned. I don't mind paying extra for that but only if I can go into a condo and the toilet be clean. The toilet had not been scrubbed out. It had brown water stains in the bowl. I cleaned it with the brush in the cabinet., sink faucets had dried toothpaste on them, only given 1 dish towel, that did not look real clean and 1 dishrag. Had to use a washrag as a dishrag. Also found 2 "DIRTY" washcloths laying on edge of bathtub therefore telling me that the cleaning crew was not very thorough in there cleaning process.

Love staying at the Sandpiper. Great place when vacationing with group renting several condos. Love the layout with great views of the ocean and pool and the large deck area on each floor where groups can gather and hangout. Really is an awesome set-up, so much better than a high rise! Our condo itself could use a little updating, but was comfortable and plenty of room for 4 adults and 2 children

The overall stay at this location was very good. As a first trip to Gulf Shores we made a good choice and could see returning here in the future. We were very surprised as to how many people were from near our home town. It seemed like home away from home. The property was well maintained and clean as with all trips a few things could have been improved but, did not interfere with a very pleasant stay.

Stayed at Sandpiper several times over the years for a family reunion. This unit was in an ideal location for us. The beds were not comfortable...and the advertised queen bed was a double...but no other complaints. Many good places to eat. A new one (to us) this time was the Beach House. Very close by. Not fancy but the food and drinks were great! Note to condo owner...we didn't find a guest book. Like this feature we've seen in other units. Definitely returning to Sandpiper in 4 years and most likely for a separate trip in 2017!

One of our best vacations ever! This was my husband's first time at the beach and it couldn't have been better! Bender realty are wonderful to work with, and the Sandpiper was comfortable and accessible to everything! Clean, comfortable - all the amenities that one would need. I have been enjoying a stay at the Sandpiper annually for 30 years. The upkeep is phenomenal -- it looks "new" each year when I arrive on the outside. AND, the inside of the condos are well taken care of (updated), as well.

We have been at Sandpiper for six years and will attempt to be back next year. It has been our experience in the past that furniture is not updated. Most is broken down, not supportive for us thAt stay for longer periods of 's different living there rather than visiting for a week. Thanks , looking forward to next year!

View of Gulf was great. very easy to walk out and set up on the beach. condo was clean and had cool AC. pictures accurately represented condo. had a minor repair we needed to get done to our van and Bender made a referral to a great auto repair shop. We used WIFI a little and it worked fine in main room of condo. Main room has "smart TV". Thanks!

We loved the Sandpiper. Have stayed three times. Our unit 6A was comfortable and roomy. Furniture and decor was a little outdated, but beds were comfortable and condo was quiet.

This trip and the rental was an week to remember. The beaches and the rental were wonderful. During the month of January I did not know what to expect but was surprised. Would not think twice about returning. Hope to see you again in the fall.....

This was a great location and condo set up for a family with 2 babies under 3. We played on the beach and in the ocean and then went to take naps. Everything was so relaxed and fun. Also my son has severe food allergies (milk) which are surface sensitive
- he didn't have a reaction while there which tells me the condo was very clean.

I have never slept on a more uncomfrtable bed in my life. he bed in the main bedroom has to be replaced. I was sore the entire week! We did have a minor problem with our a/c but your staff fixed it quickly.

I've been coming to the Sandpiper for some 25 years (give or take)- first w/ small kids (it was the perfect scenario for that) then w/ 5 girlfriends, now only one close long time buddy and grandchildren -- it still is the perfect scenario for me

Overall a great place and excellent location. We have stayed in this same unit for 3 years now. One recommendation would be to replace the chairs in the living room area. They are very tippy and one of our friend's kids fell over the chair and fell into an end table breaking the glass. The owner's son was down there at the same time at one of their other units and admitted that the chairs are dangerous. That being said they should probably be replaced. Other than that I would recommend the unit.

Sandpiper is the best place to stay.

We have stayed at the Sandpiper for many years. We love the layout with the pool in the middle and the beach so close. We had a pipe burst in our condo late in the evening and we were moved to another condo within a half an hour. Betty at Bender Realty is the best!!!

We stayed at the Sandpiper many times, but it has been a long time ago. We now have a great timeshare in Mexico that is our home away from home (last 10 years?). Hard to beat premium all inclusive, but...with all that has gone on in the economy this year, we decided to go back to our roots...glad we did. We will be back. It reminded us how much we like GS. If we want to spend big bucks on vacation (honestly, not that much more than we paid for this, but we have to add 5 -6 airfares!), it will be in Mex where I am fed, watered and pampered constantly, but for a great family vacation with no-guilt attached, we will definitely come back to GS.

Furniture was comfortable and atmosphere homey. I've been staying at the Sandpiper since 1985 (i think) & deemed it then most perfect for my needs & wants. My only complaint this year was a loud vehicle that came and went (stayed approx 5 min.) under the unit at 6am in the morning- rap, bumping music- additionally, on Saturday the parking area seemed to provide a pick up spot for teens who'd been to the beach - and not in residence. I suggested gates might cut down on that but it was not bad enough to keep me from coming back again - I just don't want to see that kind of thing grow. Hope to be back next Spring! Thanks for the wonderful retreat for the past 24 years!Ya'll have done a marvelous job of keeping it fresh and inviting over the span of those years.

I really do like the place. It's great for kids. The only thing that could make the place better would be to have a hot tub on site. We go in April which can lead to some cold days/nights. The tub would just top things off and it looks like there would be room to have one. Just a thought.

I will definitely stay at Sandpiper again. It was very convenient, clean, and overall wonderful. My only complaint would be the provisions within my specific unit. There were NO pot holders, only 1 mixing bowl, the pans were scarce. The vaccuum was clogged, (it >1/2 hour to clean it out). The unit was clean but the owner needs to know that a few things added would make me want to stay in this unit again instead of changing to a different one.

My family had a great vacation at the Sandpiper in Gulf Shores. We have been to Gulf Shores twice and have had a wonderful time. Our grandkids dearly love the place and have shared alot of memories. I would recommend the Sandpiper to anyone that wants to have a great time at the beach.
