Description

Sandpiper is a low density three story complex. Its unique V shape building and shared common area walkway in front of each condo lends to a friendly get to know your neighbor atmosphere. Family reunions, large groups of people traveling together and individual families choose this property often. The tropical courtyard, seasonally-heated swimming pool (The pool is generally heated from March 1 to November 30, weather permitting) and grilling areas give Sandpiper an ambiance all its own. It is a highly requested property and has the most repeat guests.

We come to the sandpiper every year and 14 C has become our home away from home. We love our time at the beach and staying here is always a great experience. The Bender staff are always responsive and will help any way they can. This unit is updated and very comfortable for my family. We look forward to visiting again.

We did think the pool was not kept as clean on a daily basis as previous years.
We were cleaning debris out with the "net" almost every morning.
It was almost like the filter wasn't on or maybe not working at all.
Great week....your always polite a responsive.

Good experience rented same unit this year as last year. Seemed to be an issue with the Ice Maker not hardly making ice and refrigerator seems to be starting to have issues. Did have setting at mid point to not freeze it but wasn't very cool. Secondary bathroom wasn't as cleaned as last year, had hair upon check in on shower wall and bottom around toilet dirty. Master bathroom shower curtain at bottom dirty.

Overall our 28 day stay was enjoyable, beautiful, and relaxing. However, when we first arrived the elevator malfunctioned and we had to use the stairs. It was soon fixed however. The office staff is very helpful with any question or request. Places to eat are bountiful and the beach can't be any closer. Lot of good neighbors.

Working with Bender is as easy as pie. The folks are awesome. Sandpiper is a wonderful place to get a large group of folks together. The rooms are open to the outside and in close proximity. The pool is large enough to accommodate everyone and the beach is a few easy steps away.

Bender Realty was extremely communicative and helpful throughout the booking process as we hit a couple of roadbumps. Sandpiper itself is just perfect for us. We dont need high end luxury, just a nice place to stay with all you need to have a fun trip. No matter what floor you stay on (there are only 3) they have service carts to help with loading and unloading your things to your condo. Condo was SPOTLESS clean. View from third level is spectacular, can see the pool and beach. Many times I would check on my kids swimming from my balcony. Theres a chair and umbrella rental service called Ike's who sets up your chairs at 7 am and doesnt remove them on the beach until 6-630. This was VERY convenient as the kids often wanted to switch between pool and beach or taking a rest in the condo and we could always go back to our same spot on the beach. Condo itself was lovely, stayed nice and cool. Enough room for all. We will be back FOR SURE!!!

Three beds for three bodies. The kitchen was properly apportioned, and the rooms were clean and clutter-free. We had easy access to the pool and the beach. We were allowed to enjoy ourselves around the pool without being hassled by overbearing security, and we enjoyed the folks who were staying around us.

We vacationed with 79 family and friends. Perfect complex for a large group. But property is old and condo is small for the $$$ you pay to rent. Kitchen is fully stocked with utensils and cookware. Bedrooms are small and feel cramped. Bathroom is also very small. A blow dryer was provided. Had to borrow one from a neighboring condo that provided 3 blow dryers.
Overall had a fantastic time visiting with friends and family, if you are vacationing with a large group this is a perfect location, otherwise much nicer properties to rent.

We love the Sandpiper and have been staying here with friends 10+(15+ with my family) years.

We have stayed in a lot of the Condos here, but 14C has been one of the best.

Pros: I love the furniture, the openness, and the cleanliness. The appliances work great, and they supply all of the amenities needed for home and beach. They are SUPER responsive and helpful, and they dealt with moving our dates for next year (twice...I called and changed condos twice since 14C wouldn't be available). The receptionists/managers are top tier -- the most kind, helpful, and professional humans.

Neutral: With a place like the Sandpiper (It's U shape), it is open outside, so if people across the way are loud, you will hear it. Luckily this year, the families were quiet. Much better experience from certain families from the past partying late into the night. With that in mind, the condos are soundproof (walk inside and the noise disappears) and we spend out evenings/nights on the beach). If there are loud groups, be ready; they security guard hasn't been particularly proactive in the past.

Cons: The water pressure was not very good this year. The master shower didn't drain. The dishwasher broke, and we put in a maintenance ticket; they came and looked at it to confirm it was broken. Said they would return the next day, but never came back. We did all dishes by hand. Bender was super apologetic and helpful along the way though. Also, they used to blow off the decks each morning, and have stopped doing that; I wish they would start again.

Overall great experience even with the cons!

My family spent the first week of July here in 14C and we had a great time. The condo was clean and nicely decorated. Plenty of space for my three small children to play and relax out of the sun. The kitchen was fully equipped and the kitchen table easily sat us all.

Last week we stayed at the Sandpiper Condominiums in Gulf Shores. As there were 10 adults and 3 children, we rented three units,16C, 15C and 14C.We had excellent views of the ocean and all that was going on at the Sandpiper. All three condos were well decorated and very comfortable. No other condos have the atmosphere that the Sandpiper has, both inside and out. All three condos had been spotlessly cleaned, they were well provisioned and the staff was very friendly and most responsive to any of our requests. We’ll definitely be back. Our special thanks to Bender Realty for a job well done !

Vacation rental and property was very clean. Other tenants were very friendly, like long time friends or family. We loved the atmosphere here. The only downfall was bumper to bumper traffic in town and the constant congestion at the grocery stores.

The Sandpiper condominium complex was in relatively good condition, even after last Fall's hurricane. The roof was "patched" in several areas where there had been leakage. But this roof had been scheduled for replacement even before the hurricane. Roofing work was done most of the last three weeks of our visit this year, and was still in progress at the end of February. This was a little annoying when footsteps and hammering happened at 8 a.m., but the work had to be done. Bender Realty is still the friendly, helpful management company we have come to know so well. All issues were handled promptly and followed up to be sure we were satisfied. We have booked our stay at Sandpiper for 2022, although we are going to move to a different condo.

Our Seventh Year

This is our seventh year staying at the Sandpiper condominiums for the months of January and February. The complex had some roof damage this year from last Fall's hurricane. Workers have been pounding on the roof this past week, but the inconvenience has been minor. The other tenants are friendly and sociable, and the atmosphere is generally quiet and relaxing. Bender Realty, the management company, is very helpful. The entire staff is always pleasant and eager to please in resolving any question or issue. We have already booked our return trip in 2022.

The pandemic made us think long and hard about returning to the Sandpiper for our seventh winter season. Glad we are here. Minor damage to the complex from the hurricane a couple of months ago but nothing that interferes with daily life. The staff at Bender Realty are as cordial and helpful as ever and have gone out of their way to provide excellent guest service! They have exceeded our expectations in providing a wonderful vacation experience for us again!

This is our sixth consecutive year renting this same condo. The owner maintains the unit well and periodically upgrades furniture and other amenities. The building complex itself, however, is starting to show its age. Water leaked into our kitchen area the past two years. The management company was prompt in getting temporary repairs made. The complex owners are aware that the roof needs replacing and this will cause significant disruption to the complex. The elevator failed multiple times in January, trapping riders on several occasions. Most occupants at this time of year have mobility issues and some literally cannot climb even one flight of stairs. But the management company that runs this condo complex is extremely friendly and does everything possible to please the guests.

This is our sixth year renting this unit. The owner does a good job keeping the unit and furnishings clean and up to date. Everyone at the Bender Realty management company is very friendly and helpful in handling any problem or issue reported to them. We’ve already booked our stay here next year.

We really enjoyed our stay at Sandpiper! Our condo was clean and nicely decorated. We loved the quick access to the beach and the nice size pool. Our family made great memories at Sandpiper!

This was our fourth visit to the Sandpiper condos. We stayed in the same unit 14C as we had in previous years. Unit was in good condition and relatively clean. As in previous visits we took the front window screens off and cleaned the glass twice, inside and out, to get a clear look at the Gulf. The unit was well stocked with kitchen dishware and utensils. In-unit washing machine was hard on clothing and the dryer left a lot of visible lint.

Were disappointed that the pool wasn’t available for the two months we were there. It had been drained right around the Christmas holidays for re-painting and was supposed to be refilled around January 31st. However, the pool wasn’t refilled until the last week of February, just before our departure.

As usual, the staff at Bender Realty were friendly and extremely responsive to requests and issues we brought to their attention. The check-in and checkout procedures were excellent.

This is our fourth consecutive visit to Sandpiper condos in Gulf Shores. We love seeing the "winter regulars" who have become our year-round friends! The facility is well-maintained, and we like the amenities. There is a new elevator this year and the swimming pool has been drained for sanding and re-painting. We love sitting out on the boardwalk having coffee with friends in the morning or cocktails at sunset! We feel we get excellent value for the rental fees. Can't say enough about how professional and accommodating the staff at Bender Realty are! Can't imagine staying anywhere else!

Somewhat older property is very well maintained. We like the layout; condos arranged in a u-shape with a common boardwalk allows one to meet the neighbors and make friends. Much nicer than a high-rise with a private balcony, but no interaction with other residents unless you share an elevator ride. Had a couple of minor maintenance issues, but these were handled promptly and efficiently by the rental management (Bender Realty). Follow up by Bender to ensure everything was going well. This was our third visit to this resort and we have already booked our return in 2018.

We love the open environment here! Common boardwalks link every unit, allowing us to meet new people! We have made life-long friends, and keep in contact even after going home from our winter vacations. The staff at Bender Realty is friendly and professional. They truly want to make your vacation experience as good as possible. Problems and issues (though few) are handled promptly. This is our third year at the Sandpiper and we have already booked our visit for winter of 2018.

AMAZING, COMFORTABLE, ACCOMMODATING, RELAXING, WORRY-FREE, ARE ONLY A FEW WORDS TO DESCRIBE OUR STAY THIS SPRING BREAK IN UNIT 14C! THE DECOR AND FURNITURE FIT THE OCEAN THEME AND MAKE YOU FEEL AT HOME. THE KITCHEN IT WELL STOCKED WITH DISHES AND APPLIANCES. THE 3 LARGE BEDS MAKE IT POSSIBLE FOR A LARGER FAMILY TO STAY OF SEVERAL COUPLES. WE HAVE STAYED AT SANDPIPER FOR OVER 20 YEARS FOR SPRING BREAK IN OTHER UNITS BUT FOUND 14C TO BE ONE OF OUR FAVORITES THIS YEAR. BEING ON THE TOP FLOOR GIVES YOU AMAZING VIEWS OF THE BEACH FROM THE MAIN DECK AND LITTLE IF NO NOISE FROM NEIGHBORS. BILL BENDER AND STAFF ARE ALWAYS QUICK TO REMEDY ANY PROBLEMS, NEEDS OR INTERRUPTIONS DURING OUR STAYS. AS A 33 YEAR SPRING BREAK VISITOR TO GULF SHORES I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND BENDER REALTY, THE SANDPIPER AND UNIT 14C!

This is our second year of spending January, February and part of March at Sandpiper. The facility is at a great location; on the beach and just minutes from golfing, shopping, restaurants, and other activities. The layout of the complex makes it easy to meet and make friends with lots of other people. Our unit (14C) was clean, decorated nicely and had all of the amenities one could wish for. If we ever had a problem, Bender Realty promptly responded to make things right. We are absolutely looking forward to our return visit next winter!

Well maintained complex, great location and very good amenities. Walk the beach right out your door, use the charcoal grills in the court yard, visit with new friends on the decks. Five minutes to dozens of good restaurants, plus lots of nearby golf and fishing opportunities. Our unit is well stocked, clean and comfortable. It's our second year at the Sandpiper and we've already reserved our stay for next year.

This was a great week for us. The rental was great. So great that my family has said that we will be down next year staying here. We have been coming down here for 30+ years and stayed at a similar condo facility but I have been told we will have a new home base when we come back. Very clean and everything was well kept.

We have stayed in other Sandpiper condos and I must say that 14C is a gem! I hate to review for fear it won't be available when we want to book again! Beautiful, updated decor and newer appliances with great view of the ocean. Owners have made great use of space with choice of furniture and sleeping arrangements. Sandpiper is the perfect location on west beach! Great place to stay if you want to meet other friendly guests. Smaller with a safe feel!

Sandpiper 14C was really lovelylovely. The family and I only stayed a weekaand on the 4th day I tried booking it for another week but unfortunately the house was unavailable. The house was spacious, the view was beautiful and all the neighbours were nice. We will definitely be booking our holiday there again in the future.
