Working with Bender is as easy as pie. The folks are awesome. Sandpiper is a wonderful place to get a large group of folks together. The rooms are open to the outside and in close proximity. The pool is large enough to accommodate everyone and the beach is a few easy steps away.

This condo has great potential for being a great place to stay. Amenities outside are wonderful. The unit was found to be poorly stocked and decor very outdated. Owner should stay and try to cook a meal. They will realize they are missing a lot of necessities.

Manager's Response

The Sandpiper property is indeed wonderful and so family-friendly. We will be happy to evaluate this unit and contact the owner as to updates that are recommended. I see that you reached out to us concerning a few maintenance items that we were able to address - thank you for the communication! We know that you are owners of rental property yourself, but if you ever find yourself in need of a place to stay, please reach out!

The unit was in great shape, more than adequately provisioned and the complex was handy to so many of the things we wanted to do. Perfect condo for a great four-day weekend getaway.

Manager's Response

It's always a pleasure, hosting your group. Sandpiper is perfect for get-togethers such as yours, and we look forward to seeing all of you next year!

I'll start by saying we absolutely loved staying at Sandpiper! The complex has such an awesome vibe. Big groups and families, community feel. Really great to be directly on the beach, and we loved the Palm Trees. Our Unit of 13B however, left a lot to be desired. The pictures made it seem wonderful, but in reality, it is very much due for an update and a MEGA deep clean. Thick dust on the ceiling fans that I had to clean off before using, garbage/candy wrappers under furniture (including a whole dinner roll under the bed - what? How do we miss that when cleaning???), random hairs stuck to walls. The showers are peeling, almost every door is chipped and peeling, ceilings show marks and have large pieces missing, The bathroom sinks were in rough shape as well as the bathroom fans (the sounded like helicopters - so LOUD). I just never felt totally clean staying there. The furniture was all in decent enough shape, but felt dirty and had visible stains, except for the couch which seemed newer. The beds were fine, not the best ever, but not the worst.
Again, Sandpiper complex is a hard yes, but unit 13b will be a pass from me from now on. I saw so many other units that looked gorgeous and updated and fresh. We will try one of those next time.

Good location to go to the Beach. There is only one Pool which could be a little bigger, but it was fine.
Some titles in the Condo are cracked but OK. The Kitchen was missing the Dust Pan and a Can Opener. The Big Lamp in the second bedroom had a broken switch, but there was a little Lamp I could use. The second bedroom has a Balcony, but the chairs were broken and unusable. The Elevator broke once, but was quickly fixed.

This condo is exactly as advertised. Loved how easy it was to get to the pool and the beach. Check in was easy and we had no issues that required contacting the management otherwise. Condo unit was quiet even though the complex was full of guests. Only con was that there is very little beachfront in this area so that made the beach seem more crowded. Definitely a great place to stay if you want to be in the middle of it all as it was just a few blocks from hwy 59 intersection.

Manager's Response

We're so glad you enjoyed your stay in Sandpiper 13B. Be sure to call us after the beach renourishment project - there will be more beach to enjoy, and of course, Sandpiper 13B will still be here!

Bender Reality was amazing to deal with. They helped me plan a Senior Trip for 30 people. We rented condos 3b, 9b, 10b, 11b, 12b, 13b, 14b, and 15b! Condos were pretty clean (a little sand it in floor understandable! Several of the condos had an order like burnt bacon in them when we walked in. After spraying Lysol and air freshener the smell went away. We had a blast and the condos were perfect for us. Beds were comfy and condos were nice and cool. A couple of the condos decoration were mix and match but didn’t bother us. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Good option for a family vacation.

We stayed at the sandpiper for fall break. Overall the experience was great! The heated pool was perfect for my little ones to play in after dinner and sunset. Our room was clean. Just enough space for our family of 5. The only 2 not so great things, the cookware sucks, I had to go to target and buy my
Own skillet & the beds were mega uncomfortable and really small for 2 adults (my husband and I) we actually ended up sleeping on the fold out couch it was more comfortable than the bed. The easy access to the beach made up for that though! The ladies in the office at Bender were extremely helpful and very kind.

Our condo was very clean and we had everything we needed. We were steps away from the beach which really helped since we had a 4 year old and a 10 month old with us. We were close to all the local restaurants and shops. Bender Vacation Rentals was very helpful in the entire process. Great vacation, we will return to Sandpiper.

Was happy that we were able to check in early, with that said we thought when Bender called and said our room was ready to check in that it would in fact be ready. Get to our condo to a condo that, if it had been cleaned, im not sure exactly what they cleaned. Visible dirt on carpets, water rings from previous occupants on tables and counters, same in the bathroom. You would think that with covid going on they would actually clean and disinfect the rooms. When cleaning people came back they tried doing as little as possible and then tried to run out of the room before we saw the poor job they did again. Even when confronted with what they were cleaning with they lied to our face abiut disinfecting anything. Took them 3 times coming back and in the end my girlfriend just cleaned everything herself. Other than the cleaning company and the office not really doing anything about it our stay was nice. Will not ve returning though. Room we were in could use an update. Pool area and beach access were very nice as well as the location with lots of places to eat around and things to do with the kids.

We love Sandpiper but this our first experience with Bender. Condo was not clean at check-in and the only accommodation made was to come in and re-clean once we were settled in. We have never had this experience before.

Manager's Response

Our office is open seven days a week with housekeeping and maintenance on staff in order to address any needs a guest may have. While we consider the poor housekeeping to be unacceptable, we are happy to have been able to correct the problem. We hope that you enjoyed your stay in Sandpiper.

Bender provided quick check-in and excellent communication. When we had an issue with the oven not working they sent someone over right away. It turns out it had been unplugged. The condominium was nice. Would like to have a King bed in the master bedroom. The bed seemed to be a double but not sure. Also, my daughter said the sofa bed was not very comfortable. Other than that, it was a nice place to stay. I think a few more towels and wash clothes could be provided. We found what we needed in the kitchen. I like the codes on door locks instead of keys. We have been staying at Sandpiper for a long time. It is good for families. It has a pool, easy access to the beach, outdoor grills, and it is about 2.5 to 3 miles from Gulf State Park which is a nice place to visit.

Manager's Response

We're so glad you enjoyed your stay in Gulf Shores! Sandpiper is indeed a wonderful place for families. 13B provides a great view of the pool area and Gulf. The washer and dryer in the unit makes laundering during your vacation very convenient.

We stayed at the Sandpiper which is a lovely set of condos designed for socialization. I never felt isolated the people were friendly and fun. Our unit had a nice location but definitely needs updating. The carpet has the tacks coming through and we had to be careful where we stepped. My only recommendation is heat the pool! It is beautiful an inviting to see but sadly not heated for use in January and February. One last shout out to Bender Realty, they are great to work with. The 2 Small issues we had were handled quickly and sent very qualified people to fix the problem. Highly recommend everything. We are staying again next year. In a more updated unit!

The experience overall was excellent. My family had three units right together, B13,14 and 15. The only negative was another family had two units sandwiched around ours. They were nice enough to talk to but they were very messy, took up all the deck space setting trash right up to the door and in front of the windows of my son's condo. They looked like they were camping with cookers and dishes, coolers and trash everywhere on the deck. They also took two of the deck chairs from our condos. One of the men smoked and always stood stood in front of my son's door which would stink up their condo. We complained to Bender and someone came quickly and talked to the people. At that time the other people did clean up their deck somewhat and got most of the trash out of my son's part of the deck. The guy never smoked in front of the door any more. However, by nightfall the trash creeped back over to my son's condo. My son took a picture of it to show to Bender's again. One of the men saw this and approached my son and asked him what he was doing. When my son explained the man said there was no need for that and asked why he didn't just talk to him about it. He said they would move things off my son's part of the deck. My son never showed the pictures to Bender. The trash improved about 50 percent. The adults acted friendly mostly afer that but some of the kids were alittle rude and would give us dirty looks everytime they walked by. The day that family left, they left a dirty, full "ashtrey" in front of my son's window. They never returned the twe deck chairs. Being surrounded by that hostile atmosphere put a bit of a damper of part of our stay. Other than that it was a great stay. My family has been spending time at Sand Piper for about 10-13 years. Bender has always been quick, efficient, polite and professional with any problems we've had.

Manager's Response

We very much appreciate all the years we have been able to be the host for your family's vacation time at the beach. Sandpiper is a lovely family style condominium and we expect all guests to respect the property and to be considerate of the other guests. Fortunately, the vast majority of our guests at Sandpiper are, like yourselves, repeat customers who come here precisely because it is such a family friendly and relaxing property. Thanks for you comments and we look forward to seeing you at the beach.

My problem was the people directly above me, they let their washing machine overflow or it was broken, not sure and it flooded the kitchen, I had to clean it up and put bowls down to collect the dripping water from the light fixture, maintenance did not come until the next day. They did bring me extra towels however. They people above me also, banged their shoes on the deck right above me until I yelled. Thank you

This was our first time in Gulf Shores, Alabama. The size & the location of the condo was just perfect. The people from the realtor are very friendly. Our three little ones, until now that we're back home keeps asking to go back to Sand Piper. We had a wonderful stay & a wonderful vacation.

We have been coming to Gulf Shores over the last 14 years. Each time we come we stay at the Sandpiper. We choose it because of its size. It is small and very family friendly. We like getting to know the other guests. OUr stay in 13B was very nice. It appears the condo has been updated with new kitchen cabinets and new furniture. We appreciated that because last year the condo we were in was beginning to show some wear. Our overall experience was exactly what we 's good to see the Gulf has rebounded from the Oil spill. We plan on continuing our yearly vacation to the Sandpiper in Gulf Shores.

We had 2 power outages in the same day, and were concerned. But the power was returned quickly and was never an issue for the remainder. We were able to have a fun, relaxing vacation in a nice condo. Should have read better that we needed to bring extra toilet paper and garbage bags. One each was not enough!! Hope to return again next year.

Everthing was great, but the weekend of the Hangout event it was hard getting around and parking in Sandpiper's own parking lot. We will be back but will have watch the weekend schedules closer.

Will probably want to return. Would only require 1 bedroom next time. Coffee on the beach during sunrise was great.

Overall a great time. The room needs a light bulb replaced over the dinner table and the stove. In the guest bath shower handle moves like the pipes are loose in the wall. The carpet needs cleaned.

My family always enjoys staying at the Sandpiper because of the family atmosphere . . and this year was no different. Great weather . . we timed it juyst right to miss the Atlanta floods so that was a pluss. Two of my grandchildren were there and

We love the Sandpiper. We have told so many people about it, therefore we are afraid that we won't be able to stay their again because it will be filled up when we want to come again. 4th time there and plan to go back again some time hopefully real soon.

We were happy to see The Sandpiper was kept up after the Hurican a few years back . I have recommend others contant and stay with your properties.

We had a blast @ 13b Sandpiper. They took very good care of us after my son stepped on a nail. I was very impressed with how concerned they were for his wellbeing and the extent they are going through to make sure everything is taken care of!

Overall our stay was good...there was a large group of kids from a youthgroup that was somewhat rowdy at night. Two years ago when we stayed there, there was a security guard on duty and that seemed to cut down on the rowdiness.

I am very impressed with the property and am very glad that it was so family oriented. The view was beautiful of the ocean and the pool area. I liked it so much I am planning to return in August to allow my children to have a relaxing week before school starts back up. Thanks for such an amazing experience.

Actually, I hate to admit that I could even be old enough to have been to the Sandpiper for 20 plus years -- but I have. And, since my first year, this is where I've chosen to come for all my years to GS. I love it but I'd really like to keep it a secret. I'd just as soon have no one there while I am in residence.
