Sandpiper is a low density three story complex. Its unique V shape building and shared common area walkway in front of each condo lends to a friendly get to know your neighbor atmosphere. Family reunions, large groups of people traveling together and individual families choose this property often. The tropical courtyard, seasonally-heated swimming pool (mid-March through October, as needed) and grilling areas give Sandpiper an ambiance all its own. It is a highly requested property and has the most repeat guests.

We have been going to the SandPiper for a number of years and our whole family looks forward to it with great anticipation. There are at least 11 of us in three condos. From the time we get there it is like a breath of fresh air. The condos are very clean, pool maintained every day, security every night and such friendly neighbors you won’t find anywhere else. The Bender office is so accommodating and available, they are so nice and always welcoming. I can’t say enough about Sandpiper. If you are looking for a nice family oriented place to stay, a safe place right on the beach, with great customer service please give them a call. You won’t regret it.

We were so excited to see what our place looked like! It is quintessential beach themed unit! I love the porches overlooking the pool and beach. Everyone always seemed to be having a great time, you can see all the people on their porches hanging out and laughing- the vibe was always on point. Everything inside was clean and comfortable. Loved having the wash/dryer in the unit. We don’t have any complaints and will absolutely be staying here again. We were truly sad to leave! If I had to find something for them to improve on it would be the parking, if you get a covered spot ( if you can find an open one) you’re fine otherwise it’s very hard to park and back up and out.with how little the parking area is.

Working with Bender is as easy as pie. The folks are awesome. Sandpiper is a wonderful place to get a large group of folks together. The rooms are open to the outside and in close proximity. The pool is large enough to accommodate everyone and the beach is a few easy steps away.

We did enjoy are stay, we love the Sandpiper and its location. Our condo is a little dated but furniture was clean and comfortable. We had several light bulbs burn out when we were there but Bender staff was prompt to replace them. The can spot lights above the table need to be replaced. We purchased the linen service but the kitchen dish towels and dish cloth were actually bathroom towels. The bath towels were also pretty worn with exception of one. We have already booked for next year and look forward to our stay in Gulf Shores.

Three beds for three bodies. The kitchen was properly apportioned, and the rooms were clean and clutter-free. We had easy access to the pool and the beach. We were allowed to enjoy ourselves around the pool without being hassled by overbearing security, and we enjoyed the folks who were staying around us.

We love the Sandpiper! While it is getting some age on it, the location and the beach certainly make up for it. We love the fact it isn't a multi story high rise and appreciate the overall feel of the smaller place. Our condo was clean and had everything we needed. We had a great week!

The apartment was perfect. Centrally located and well appointed, there is easy access to all the amenities that Gulf Shoes could offer- and there were many. The Bender Agency went out of their way to make it enjoyable and most memorable.

We love the Sandpiper in general. This unit needs to be updated. We are paying the same price as someone with an updated unit. Just doesn't seem right. The only reason we chose this unit is because it was the only one left.

What a perfect place especially for families. Plenty of room in the condo, right on the beach yet net to giant so I felt safe letting my kiddo's adventure. We will be back!

Food was phonomomal everywhere. It will be a long time until we eat seafood in Ky! Hoping to stay two weeks next year. When you go really just bring your swimsuit and beach towel! close to the beach, I guess with the storm coming we only could watch about 3 channels on tv, which was hard since I had a 7 year old with us

VERY NICE AND RELAXING. WE WERE THERE SUNDAY-SUNDAY. STARTED OUT CLOUDY AND THE WATER ROUGH BUT AS THE WEEK WENT BY THE WEATHER AND WATER IMPROVED. WE LIKED IT SO MUCH WE HAVE BOOKED AGAIN FOR NEXT YEAR AT THE SAME TIME. WE ARE ALSO TRYING TO DO ONE IN JUNE WITH KIDS AND GRANDKIDS WHICH WE DID ABOUT 6YRS AGO SO WE ARE DUE. I love the Sand Piper and have rented there for many years. I have rented 11 B for about 3 years. 11 B continues to be a total disappointment. It needs a complete renovation which I have stated each year that I have rented. The kitchen tiles are broken, toilets need to be replaced, kitchen appliances need replacement, the sliding glass on the bathroom tub does not slide, the tub in the guest bathroom cannot be used for bathing( tub plug does not work) kitchen is poorly furnished, can opener doesn't work, coffee pot is ancient, beds could use new mattresses, walls and baseboards need to be painted. Luckily, I was able to rent another condo (which has been renovated) for my two week stay next year.
I now can look forward to my return for two weeks.
I also appreciated Mr. Bender's letter concerning the unacceptable behavior of the large group of people who rented during the week of July 9th - July 14th and the consequences which could be imposed if they return next year and behave in the same manner. I appreciate that Mr. Bender ensures that I will not be subjected to the kind of behavior that these people exhibited this year.

everything was amazing except for the last two days there was no wifi. My husband came down with pneumonia and very thankful for Baldwin (I think) immediate care. He spent 5 days in bed - comfortable bed!!! The kitchen was very nice. Loved it. The floors were dirty - while I was taking care of husband I mopped the floors. Nasty. We will be back

This was our second year staying at the Sand-
piper. We were disappointed in the room we
stayed in this year. It needed a GOOD cleaning.
We were so happy with our room 2 years ago and
I guess we expected the same this year.
We are coming back next year, staying in a
different room.

Overall we had a good week at Sandpiper. The unit had plenty of space and the kitchen was well equipped. We had just a few things that weren't quite right. The bathrooms weren't perfectly clean. There was mold/mildew in the track of the shower doors of both bathrooms. The tubs didn't look clean...looked like they weren't scrubbed in spots. Also, the tile in the bathrooms looked dirty around the edges of the baseboard making us wonder how well it was mopped. The coffee maker was the filthiest I have ever seen. I spent over 30 minutes cleaning it the first morning before making coffee. Our only other complaint is how much smoking there was by other guests. We realize it was outside on the decks and people need to smoke outside but there was so much that it was difficult to enjoy sitting outside the unit. There was even a time when our units outside chairs were covered with ashes that had spilled down from the unit above us and had to be cleaned.

I recently booked this condo and traveled with my husband 3 teenagers and 10 year old. The Sandpiper itself is a great location and Bender Realty was very accommodating. My kids were able to walk to and from the condo without a care in the world.

The nice things I will say about this specific condo are: the air was cold, the water was hot, the room was clean, the couch was comfortable, and the Wifi worked very well for us. They also have a keyless code entry so all 7 of us had access without needing a key.

My biggest complaint is this property claims to be a non smoking unit BUT when we walked in the stink of cigarette smoke was overwhelming. My husband bought air fresheners and Febreze which helped. But after returning home everything we had taken, towels, clothes, pillows had to be rewashed as the stale cigarette smoke lingered on everything.

The other issues were: the dryer took 5 cycles to dry a load of laundry (property mgmt sent out a very nice man to fix it but the problem continued) and the dishwasher worked but didn't wash the dishes so we had to hand wash. We also found dishes from previous renters who had returned the dirty dishes to the cabinets. There have been no upgrades to the unit, which is sad since you see how nice some of the other units are inside when you walk by. Family stayed in the unit next to ours and it was a bit depressing that they had none of these issues and upgrades had been done.

Also know that the porches have spaces between the wood floor so don't plan on sitting on your patio to have coffee or a meal as sand and water from upstairs falls through. It is nice to have the porch to leave your beach toys and we felt safe leaving our items there. Also the noise from whomever is upstairs is frustrating and out of your control.

Weekend get away, spur of the moment trip, was extremely pleased with what we found when we got there, a beautiful condo, convenient to the beach, each unit facing the gulf, a beautiful pool and palm trees in the center, was the most relaxing vacation I have had, plan to go back to Sandpiper for my future vacations to the Gulf.

We DID enjoyed our stay. There are only a few complaints, when booking, I specifically asked how good the connection was to the Wi-Fi was, since my husband had to work one day, they said it was very good. IT WAS NOT! Second, the master bathroom tub constantly backed up. We had to plunge it several times just so we could take a shower w/o it filling up. Third, when they say they only give you 1 item - they mean it, 1 garbage bag, 1 roll of toilet paper, one dishwasher tablet, etc.. so be prepared for that & bring items from home if you aren't staying longer then a week. Otherwise we loved the access to the beach & the location. I would recommend it to friends who don't need WiFi connections.

Obviously, we love the Sandpiper, since we keep making return visits there. The Bender Realty Staff has always been extremely nice and helpful to me when talking with them by phone or in person. The Sandpiper is in a great location with a nice view, the set-up is super, and the atmosphere is fun and relaxing. It's great having covered/reserved parking and a patio area right outside your door. The pool's nice and you're only a few steps from the beach!
However, on this trip, there were a few minor inconveniences. The garbage disposal didn't work and the sink kept backing up. Bender Realty sent someone out to check it right away, which was great. The disposal never got fixed, but at least the drains were cleaned out that stopped the back up. Both shower doors ar pretty old and don't slide open very easily. Lots of kids periodically running around on the deck above us--making a lot of pounding noise and vibrations on the became somewhat annoying after a while. The elevator quit a couple of times during the week--for short periods. It wasn't too bad, except on check-out day. That was a real inconvenience---making a dozen trips up and down the stairs, carrying as much as you could at a time--to make less trips, along with the kids and all.Talk about a work-out!!! Yippy--it got fixed, but it was on our last trip to the car! Glad it was working for the new guests though. Still a great place to go! These few minor problems didn't ruin our trip though in any way. The good times and all there, definitely outweighed any of the inconveniences. Would love to get in a different condo though--especially one of the front ones with the porch swing. Would like to know more about a few of the other units at the Sandpiper. Thanks....

I loved the Sandpiper. It is so much nicer than staying at the large highrise apartment style condos. The property was in good condition and just a short walk to the beach.

The outdoor grounds well kept and great beach access. The inside of the condo great shape, furniture good condition and well kept, kitchen furnished w/all needs. The only thing the bathrooms could have been cleaner(mold growing around edge of both tubs.) Very spacious indoors and outdoors on deck area. The office staff was very friendly and helpful.

WE have stayed at Sandpiper on 6 different vacations and absolutely love the setting and the people that run Bender. Only 1 thing I would ever want to see changed. On the beach itself, the other guests that set up tents and block the view of the ocean to other guests is an issue that should probably be looked at. Other than that, Sandpiper at Gulf Shores gets my highest praise !!
