Description

Sandpiper is a low density three story complex. Its unique V shape building and shared common area walkway in front of each condo lends to a friendly get to know your neighbor atmosphere. Family reunions, large groups of people traveling together and individual families choose this property often. The tropical courtyard, swimming pool and grilling areas give Sandpiper an ambiance all its own. It is a highly requested property and has the most repeat guests.

Three beds for three bodies. The kitchen was properly apportioned, and the rooms were clean and clutter-free. We had easy access to the pool and the beach. We were allowed to enjoy ourselves around the pool without being hassled by overbearing security, and we enjoyed the folks who were staying around us.

Great location and the condo had everything we needed for the beach including chairs, toys, a tent, etc. The AC went out during our stay but the property management sent someone out right away to fix it. They were great to work with! The condo being outdated does not bother me because we mostly hung out in a neighbor's condo for meals. The carpeting is nice with little kids and sand, but it felt like some areas were uneven and might be rotting underneath. The beds were horrible and felt like you were sleeping on a 2 x 4. I would not rent this specific condo again for that reason and would look at another one at the Sandpiper.

My two adult sons and I were in Alabama for a family wedding and wanted to take a few days at the beach ahead of time. On the first night the air conditioning stopped working. Bender Realty had someone out to fix it the first thing the next morning (which was a Sunday). I would definitely rent from them again. Great trip.

We love the Sandpiper as a great vacation location.

We have been staying at the Sandpiper for 24 years. Many as 2 or 3 times in a year. Always clean and well kept. Just one problem on our last visit. People on the floor above us had kids running up and down their hallway many nights well past midnight. The staff at Bender also is very helpful and professional. Thanks to all of them for a great place to stay.

14B at the Sandpiper is a great location. This unit really needs the kitchen, living room furniture, and mattress updated. I would not rent this unit again due to these items. I will rent from Bender/Sandpiper again in the future but get a different more updated unit.

We have been coming to Sandpiper for over 40 years. Some of the condos are more updated than others but most of our time is spent outside. It would be nice to get some of the condos updated and deep cleaned. Overall we had a great time with no family drama considering we had over 80 people there!

We come back every year and this year wasn't much different. It is a great place to stay and we didn't run it many problems.

I think the appliances need to be updated, (took a while for the fridge to get cold and the oven took a very long to heat up) but overall it was good.

We got into a disagreement with the security guard and he called the cops. I'm not saying we were perfect, but I think the situation could have definitely been handled differently. There was zero reason to get the police involved. Past years have been much nosier, but we got into the most trouble this year, which didn't make sense to me.

But again, we will be back and I had a great time.

We absolutely loved our vacation at The Sandpiper in Gulf Shores. The location is amazing. The way the complex is set up with the pool, beach access, parking and ice vending machine was perfect. The only concern we had was the cleanliness of the condo. With COVID-19, it appeared the focus was more on disinfecting (which was appreciated) but that left things like dusting incomplete. We easily took care of it ourselves before unpacking and it did not deter us from enjoying our vacation.

You can't beat the location and staff. This was our 4th time staying and it was fabulous yet again. You can't beat being right on the beach and the pool is a nice added bonus. Our unit was a little dated but I would stay there again and I plan to. The staff recommended plenty of activities and restaurants.

My friends and I were on a "girls' trip" and had a wonderful time. This is our second visit to Sandpiper and we have already reserved our condo for a third trip. The Sandpiper is the perfect size resort and in a great location. Our condo was very clean and well maintained.. During our stay, we had a water leak and maintenance came right away and fixed it in a timely manner. The staff is always friendly and willing to assist you in any way. We met some great people who we plan on meeting up with next year. The only negative thing I have to say about the Sandpiper is that there is not easy access to the sidewalk if you are parked in their lot. Two times we had to drag a fully loaded cart through rocks. Almost impossible without the help of a few friendly gentleman! There is one parking spot that should be marked "No Parking" to get access to the sidewalk. Overall, our trip was fantastic and I would highly recommend Sandpiper to all my friends and relatives. We look forward to our stay next year!

I love the Sandpiper. I came here as a child, and now bring my own children. I love the fact that this property is not a high rise. It is the perfect size. There is no walk to the beach; it is right there. My teenagers can be on the beach, and I can look over the end balcony and see them . Also Bender reality is so professional. The ladies in the office are kind and helpful. My family makes amazing memories each year.

Labor Day weekend a few friends and I stayed in Sandpiper unit 14b. It was a very wonderful vacation! The complex is well kept and quiet. A big plus that it is directly on the beach. Close to lots of restaurants and shopping.

I do recommend if you plan on staying longer than a couple of days to take some extra supplies like paper towels, toilet paper and garbage bags.

This place worked very well for our large group because the layout surrounding the pool(small)but fine,,Cookout area worked great,,Some rooms needed updated but ours was fine,,liked the keypad entry,,only complaint was the maint,security would knock and walk in or look thru window to see if anyone was home??? Unacceptable!!

We stayed at Sandpiper as part of a family reuniuon. The location was wonderful, and the unit was spacious and gave us plenty of room. It was great to have a washer and dryer in the unit so we could do laundry during the week. The view of the beach was great. The icemaker in the freezer wasn't working, however, so we did have to go and buy a bag of ice.

We commend the construction workers on their consideration during our stay. They were working in the next unit and we heard very little of their activity. In fact, we heard more of the activity from the unit above us. The only thing on our wish list would be that our pets could join us. We'd book a month if that could be arranged.

This unit was perfect! We enjoyed a fantastic 3 generation vacation with only 1 complaint...the dryer was incredibly LOUD and SQUEAKY. Therefore we only used it once. Everything else was as wonderful as we remembered in another unit 7 years before. We will return again and again.

Overall a great experience. Paint on ceiling in kids bedroom chipping off and pieces fell and carpet in master bedroom going into the bathroom was coming up. But the condo was great and had everything we needed. Beautiful view. We will stay again!

Everything tidy; plenty of supplies for our group of 7. The only surprising thing (and I should have read details) was the 2nd bedroom which had twin beds instead of the double that i was used to at Sandpiper. Have stayed at SP at least 5 times now. This time the noise level, especially at night was fairly excessive. There was a little league team there which could account for that.
Our families had a great time nonetheless.

We truly enjoyed the Sandpiper. This was our second trip here, stayed in 2 different condos on each trip and both were fantastic. Location to beach is excellant. Next time we plan a trip to Gulf Shores, Sandpiper will be our first choice.

The unit was very clean and the beds comfortable. The kitchen is a little worn out and outdated. Could have used a decent non-stick frying pan and a hot dog tongs. The other kitches items were great. The icemaker in the freezer a big plus. The place was decorated nicely and the big kitchen table was also nice. The couch was a little sunken and that tends to happen with sofa sleepers. The layout of the complex was great. All units facing the ocean, the deck space right in front, the pool in the center-all pluses. The complex could have used some type of security. We had a terrible problem with kids running on the decks during the evening. Even after speaking to the kids themselves and their parents, the running continued. They would run so much the building would shake.

Another very good vacation at the Sandpiper. Unit 14B could use some updating, however. Some of kitchen cabinets were in bad condition. There is too much clutter in the room. Had to move the table and footstool in the main room into the bedroom just to open up the pullout couch. We would probably only stay in unit 14B if there were no other units available. If it were updated, we would love to stay there again.

Complex was in excellent condition, as usual. The only problem we had was the furnishings in the dining area of our unit. It had a dining table with 6 chairs. In addition, there were at least three, if not four, extra dining chairs. And, there was no leaf in the table that could be removed. In addition, there are one or two bookshelves in the dinig area .This part of this unit was way too crowded. The two bedrooms, the bathrooms, the living area, and the kitchen were excellent.

Annual trip with four other families. Sandpiper is a good layout for group gatherings. Too noisy around the pool, but security does a nice job of politely asking people to contain noise at night. We'll be back next year.

Had a great time and look forward to next year. Main reason was the people. My son's wife comes from a large family and at least 50 of them were there. It was truly a great time.

Our unit (14B) was very nice & well equipped. Would like to see larger beds. The master bed room was a double bed and not a queen. Slept on the couch for 2 nights just because of the lack of room. Would prefer 2 doubles in 2nd bedroom, but understand that space is limited.

Loved the look of the beach in the winter. Few neighbors but those that were there were friendly. Could not get a safe connection for Ipad. Would have liked a floor mat right inside the door. Loved the unit and having it so well equipped. We'd come again.

We liked the size of this condo. Wallpaper in master bath needs some repair or replacement. Kitchen needs a cookie sheet...other than that the kitchen was well equipped.

We love the Sandpiper: the condo and location. The only problem we had was that the bathroom smelled musty (I think it was the shower curtain) and we had a problem with the shower not working properly that we called in on Monday morning and it wasn’t fixed until Thursday afternoon. Wish it would have been fixed sooner. But the rest of the condo was clean, the location is great, and the everything else was wonderful.

The Sandpiper is wonderfully located and we had a lovely view of the ocean. The condo we rented, however, is in need of some maintenance. Wallpaper was peeling in some rooms, the carpet was threadbare and carpet staples were exposed along the tile floor in the kitchen. Also there was a shortage of basis kitchen supplies, like a cutting board, cookie sheet and glassware.

Location great. Carpet very worn & dirty. Tile floors sticky. Pool furniture very dirty and chair straps broken. Great weather, room needs to be properly cleaned if expected to pay $130. cleaning fee.

Carpet is cleaned as needed, and will be checked and cleaned, if necessary, upon the next departure. Deck furniture is removed and restrapped when straps break. We are grateful for your comments, and we are always happy to address any of your concerns during your stay, as well.

We've been coming to Gulf Shores since 1979 and really like the Sandpiper layout. We come with five families and it gives us privacy and the opportunity to gather together when we want. We do not like the policy of requiring the husband's signature for everything. We should both have the ability to register and pay for our vacation. Also, we had to carry most all of our luggage down to our car at check-out. There were no carts available and the clean-up crew was using the few that were provided.

We had a few problems with other renters. The renters above our sister in laws condo squashed beer cans on their balcony onto our children. There were alot of guests in the pool with not only beer cans but beer bottles. There were also (probably all the same renters) some guests that just simply were loud and obnoxious on the wooden walkways in front of their condos.
