Island Royale P102, located at 809 West Beach Boulevard

This penthouse condominium has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a view to die for! Sleeping high above the Gulf of Mexico, you will be undoubtedly comfortable in the king bed in the master suite or one of the 2 twin bed in the guest room. There is also a sleeper sofa in the living room making this unit comfortable for up to 6 guest. There is a TV in every room, 2 DVD players and WiFi to keep you connected. Cook your own meals in the fully stocked kitchen or keep up with your laundry with the in house washer and dryer. Make sure to enjoy time on the balcony as it offers some of the best views that the island has to offer!

Island Royale is a beach front property making it easy to access the white sandy gulf coast everyday. Other amenities that this property includes are a swim through indoor/outdoor pool, child's pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room, exercise room overlooking the beach and BBQ grills. There is a convenient boardwalk that leads straight out to the beach and is equipped with showers for your return! The property features covered parking and two elevators making moving about the building a breeze. The check in was easy. Bender was alway available to answer my questions. The condo was very clean. All appliances and everything worked as they should. One of the elevators periodically was not working. The staff was told about this. It left one elevator fully functional. I like the fact that we had covered parking .We had a great stay although the weather could have cooperated better, one of our days it lightning all day so we couldn’t swim or use the pool the whole day. We would definitely stay again and would hope for better weather.

We love this condo, but very disappointed we won’t be able to stay here next winter due to the owners new rental policy.
Great area! Comfortable condo and this is the first place we’ve stayed that doesn’t allow smoking on the balconies. Finally! We come here to enjoy the fresh air and breathing cigarette smoke isn’t what we consider enjoyable.

This was our first time vacationing at Gulf Shores. The beach, water and weather were amazing. We used the grills almost every night and found the location to be close to all our conveniences needed. The condo and building could have been cleaner and a little more updated.

Pros: Clean, great location, slider in living room and bedroom to gulf, great shower and water pressure.
Cons: Only one elevator in operation the entire 3 months, constant construction, clothes dryer inefficient, mattress in master bedroom needs to be replaced.

This is our best rental yet! Could use a new mattress in the master bedroom, and a new faucet in the kitchen.
Great shower, great water pressure, lots of hot water! Beautiful views, great location, and very quiet building! We are looking forward to coming back next year!
Bender was there for us to take care of any issues.

We are really enjoying our stay in this condo! Lots of room, great TV, clean, and comfortable. Very quiet! Sliding door facing the gulf in the bedroom and living room! Look forward to coming back to this unit next year! Bender was great once again handling any issues!

Property is not toddler safe/friendly.
1-main door does not have a deadbolt or child latch and easily opened by small one/s.
2-Kitchen sink faucet leaked when turned on out the back side.
3-balcony slider door needs a bumper stop to prevent toddler and adult smashed fingers.
4-Bathtub did not have a stopper for toddler bath time.
5-Main living area needs darkening curtains for sleeping
6-lots of construction and only 1 elevator in operation...inconvenient.
Great location, good parking, great beach and view.
Bahama Bobs within walking and very good casual eatery.
Ease of obtaining entry packet and door code was good.
Thank you...and perhaps a better stay when construction complete and some items addressed.

I loved the location on the gulf. Island Royale had some hurricane damaged that needs to be fixed, The pool area was a spot that had been hit. It was great to have the pool and hot tub open though! There was supposed to be a hot tub on the roof, but there was damage , so we could not use it. The condo P102 was nice. However, there needs to a be a lock on the the inside of the door. My 1.5 year old could open it. There was no way to prevent that. If there was a slide lock or some sort of lock on the inside, it would have prevented my escaper from escaping out the door. There were black spots on the mirror in the guest bath. It should be replaced. The DVD player did not work. None of the fans in the condo worked either. The seal on the fridge seems to need replaced. I would often find the door open slightly after shutting it. The door handle on the storage area on the balcony needs replaced. Overall my favorite part of our rental was the location and the view! For the price I paid, I would have expected better. But it was not a bad experience overall.

Bender Realty was the best. Jenny was a great help. If we had questions she had the answers and fulfilled any requests we had. Check in and out was very easy.
Jenny also assisted in finding a condo for our relatives who's condo in another complex was not available for them when they arrived. They reserved their condo through Meyer Realty in August of 2020. However, 20 minutes before their arrival in Gulf Shores Meyer gave their unit to someone else and said there were no units available for the entire month of March. After I called and explained their situation to Jenny,she was able to find other available units. I would recomend Bender Realty to anyone.
The condo itself was nice but needs some attention. The livingroom and diningroom furniture should be updated. The appliances are showing their age but all worked. The condo had plenty of storage space.
Being on the top floor we enjoyed awesome views and an abundance of sunshine while on the large patio. Great location W. Beach Blvd.

The condo is showing it's age but all the appliances worked great despite their appearance. The intake vent for the air conditioning hasn't been cleaned in quite sometime (vent near the floor by master bedroom).

Only drawback is the washing machine is full of sand, so when you wash clothes you get sand all over them.

The rental was very spacious and well-furnished. Everything looked exactly as pictured. The condo is on the top floor of the Island Royale, which made for excellent views. We would definitely stay here again.

The condo far exceeded our expections. Plenty of room for my wife and I along with our 9 year old daughter and 13 year old Grandaughter.Layout was perfect to give us all a little space and the views were incredible. Already planning Spring Break.

We loved the helpful hospitality of the staff at Bender Realty. The condo was beautifully decorated and the view of the gulf of Mexico was stunning! Our visits to area restaurants were all very enjoyable. (The only negative experience we had all week long was the pool cleaning guy who was rude to my wife on Saturday the 18th when she asked him if he would be so kind to move his truck so we could be able to leave.) You can take the bad experience out in parantheses and use our positive comments for Bender I just wanted you to know that the guy who cleans the pool probably needs to find another line of work that he will enjoy more. :-) Overall, our experience with the friendly staff at Bender Realty, ease of use of the website along with the practicality of the phone app and our stay with our family in the beautiful condo made for a very happy and memorable experience. We recommend Bender Reality and would do it again. Great job!

Everything about the condo itself (location, decor, view, etc) was lovely. The damper came from the new construction next door. Can't be helped, but sure will be glad when it's done!

We had a great experience at Island Royale. The beach was wonderful. This room is on the top floor band the view was great. Didn't use the pool but it looked nice. WIFI was fast. Only minor issue was the outside shower used to rinse and off when returning from the beach stopped workingthe last day we were there. No big complaints. Would stay here again.

The unit could use a detailed cleaning,and the living room couch and chair need's to be replaced. They are worn out.need's a fresh coat of paint as their was dirty spots on the walls. Over all nice place to stay. Just needs a detailed cleaning.

My husband and I decided at the last minute to spend several nights at the beach, and we actually called Bender Realty while we were driving to Gulf Shores. The lady I talked to was so nice, and she told us she had something at Island Royale. We weren't sure what type of accommodations they would be since it was a last minute decision to rent a place. It was WONDERFUL! The property was very clean, and we couldn't ask for a better place to stay! We have been using Bender Realty for many many years, and we will always stay with this company because of their professionalism and their willingness to go the extra mile for their customers.

We had a great time! We rented 4 separate condos at Island Royale and had 22 people stating for a week. Everyone loved the facilities, and the location was close to everything (i.e. beach, restaurants, stores, etc.). Would love to stay there again.

The condo was very nice and everything worked and the view and location is great. I do have one beef - there were several bugs - even found on in the bed. NOT GOOD. We have ascertained that most of them were beetle-like and were coming from the bathroom - the baseboards were a little loose and the shower curtains that were too short and moldy, leaked a line of water to the floor that I believe attracted the bugs. I would hope bug control would be implemented regularly. One was even between the sheets of toilet paper!
Other than that everything was wonderful and we would stay there again. Oh - one more thing - you need more than ONE hose to rinse off at the beach entrance. Good rate and elevator worked good too. Thanks again.

We loved the 16th floor penthouse, especially the wonderful balcony. We could see and hear the Gulf, and lots of dolphins and pelicans.

Great location with a nice view. Was able to walk to most places we visited but far enough away from the Shrimp Festival traffic. Enjoyed the workout room. The unit could use a good cleaning as in the carpets and walls. The sheets on one of the twin beds were clean but stained and needed replaced. The screen door to the livingroom balcony is ripped. Had to clean under the stove top due to a huge overspill that was missed, which took care of the bad smell. Fuzzy air conditioner return vents. These things were minor issues & understandable after a long rental season. After these issues are addressed, the unit will not disappoint. This unit has a private/covered parking spot which is very close to the elevator and the boardwalk to the beach. Pier 33 convenience store is across the street and a very well hidden Walmart is around the corner on 180. If you love shrimp, go to Steamers behind Souvenir City and get a bucket of Red Royals! But don't dressed up, it can get messy. The Hangout was a good time and the Pink Pony is definitely adult only! Fun was had by all and we will return next year.... Cheers! As an aside, I came to know Bender Realty after Meyers tried to rent me a condo that was totally unexceptable. I stayed in a hotel the first night and Meyers called me the next morning & said they had nothing else available. I was 15 hours from home and homeless. Bender took very good care of us with a better condo at a better price. I was a Meyer customer for over 10 years, I was pleasant through the ordeal and totally shocked by their inability to offer me acceptable accommodations. Ask questions!

The indoor pool was quite useful when the wind on the beach became too strong. The staff at Bender was very friendly. The rental needed some work, but this did not take away from our trip. The screen on the balcony door was torn, all of the door stops were either broken or just barely hanging on, and the kitchen needed some pots and a griddle or something to cook on, but we are planning to stay again in April for the children's spring break.

Love the location but it needed a few changes even w/o a tropical storm. The balcony ceiling plaster was coming off even before the storm, plus the screen door was torn before the storm too. Balcony furniture was nice. No bathmats in showers & tubs were
slippery (we had a fall). No doorstops so entrance wall was damaged. Furniture was very nice just needed maybe another nice chair. A bigger TV in living area would be nice. Others were fine. Great indoor pool and hot tub area. Bender was great to bring a tub
mat & blankets when requested.

We love the beach!!!

We had a wonderful time. The penthouse suite we stayed in was gorgeous. The furnishings were beautiful and we loved the large balcony. The full size laundry room was also great. The only negative was that the pool was small and shaded. We didn't spend any time as the pool because of this. Otherwise, everything was great.

This was a great place to stay. Condo was very clean and right on the beach. This room was a little higher than expected, I think on the 16th floor which kind of surpised us, but provided a great view of the Gulf. My family wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

The only thing that were lacking were the grills, which I understand per an owner are to be replaced and the pool which is small and on the west side of the building, not much sun. Still a great stay.

We were moved to this condo after spending one night of a three day stayed in Clearwater 1A condo (not a pleasant place to stay). Condo was very nicely decorated and had an awesome view of the gulf. This condo has a great location real close to the main road into Gulf Shores

I called and left a message with Bender Realty to have the housekeeper look for my pillow and flip flops that were left in the unit. I never heard back from anyone. I called the day after we checked out. I am dissappointed in that.

Condo was great and worked well for my wife & me. Condo was very functional. Suggestions: Better lighting (Living/Dining Rm)/TV Listing (Bender had, but didn't provide)/Garbage dump not labeled (we took garbage downstairs 16 flrs until we figured it out. Would encourage Bender to provide an info packet to each guest with info (and more) as listed above. In general, we were very happy with P102 & for the most part with Bender. Bender could offer a "Thank you" when keys are returned, however. That being said, we will be contacting Bender to reserve again in the near future. Also, the Golf Package offered by Bender was a VERY good value & will be taken advantage of during our next visit to Gulf Shores.

Not really being a "summer beach" person a stay at the end of October was perfect. No crowds, ideal weather, lots of sunshine and just warm enough to get wet. A very nice, comfortable suite made for a very relaxing time.

The balcony view for fireworks on the 4th was wonderful! The condo was itself nicely appointed with all the essential cooking utensils, pots & pans, etc. Great location!

The serious problem was that, for half our stay, only one of two elevators worked. Given the signs in the elevator and what we were told by staff and those who had been staying in the condo for at least a week, the elevators regularly break down -- a problem that is not being solved. This would prevent us from staying again at Isle Royale; and it would make me nervous about other properties that Bender rents.

Note: it doesn't matter to me whether Bender or Meyer "manages" the property. The fact is that Bender rented it to our family; and, from the complaints I heard from others, Bender must have rented it with full knowledge of ongoing elevator problems.

Note for owner: (a) Check your return air filter. (b) Check the garbage disposal; it may be partially clogged. (c) The condo has roaches.

Our family really enjoyed our vacation at Island Royale P102. The accomodations were clean and pleasantly decorated. Island Royale is conveniently located and easy to find. The staff was very nice. We also liked having an assigned parking spot that was adjacent to the beach. We could just throw our beach stuff into the car instead of carrying it upstairs each time. We plan to visit again someday.
