Eat & Play During Fall Break | What to Do & Eat During Fall Break in Gulf Shores

School’s barely back in session, but for most students, fall break is already on the brain. We’re firm believers that fall is one of the best times for a beach vacation, so the fact that schools let out for a week only helps to further prove our point. Here are a few things you should add to your fall break itinerary.

Stay in School…sort of

Our back-to-school vacation ideas could definitely double as our fall vacation ideas, but in case you missed them, we love the idea of keeping your kids’ minds working while they’re vacationing. Before you think we’re trying to make you the winner of the Least Favorite Parent award, don’t worry! They’ll never even realize their learning with these day trips:

Leave the Brown Bag Behind

Once the little ones have been in school for a month or two, the novelty of the cafeteria (and all of those PB & Js) has worn off. Wow them with lunch out to one of our coastal restaurants where the meal is only part of the fun.

  • Lucy Buffett’s LuLu’s features a ropes course, water walkers, an arcade, live music, and a sandy area for the littlest ones to play.

  • The Gulf offers exquisite cuisine and you and your kiddos can dine on cozy couches overlooking the water.

  • Lambert’s Café puts forward large portions of all of your Southern favorites, but kids (and kids-at-heart) love eating fried okra served straight from a napkin on their lap and rolls that are thrown from waiters to your table.

  • Mojo’s Seafood & Chicken has great food and an even greater location. It’s proximity to the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo means you can park at the zoo, and experience all of the hands-on fun it has to offer, and then walk right over to Mojo’s for lunch. Want to go for a post-lunch round 2 at the zoo? We don’t blame you!
