Trip Planning

When you’re on a beach vacation, a trip (or two!) to the ice cream parlor is an absolute must. These three spots offer great service, delicious treats, and will definitely take care of your sweet tooth for you!

Scoops Ice Cream

Many longtime visitors to Gulf Shores tout Scoop’s as one of the places they can’t miss during their annual vacations. Since the 80s, Scoops classic cones, plus specialty desserts like traditional banana splits, hot fudge brownie delights, flurries, milkshakes, malts, and sundaes served any way you like them.

Arguably one of their most special treats is the Olde Fashioned Soda. Just like you remember, your choice of ice cream and soda water blended with your choice of syrup topped with a cherry and whipped cream.

Matt’s Homemade Alabama Ice Cream

Matt’s is the only ice cream shop in Gulf Shores serving up homemade ice cream. With at least forty flavors to choose from, you’re getting both quality and quantity. Offerings include cones and cups, floats, splits, and shakes. Find Matt’s at the Oyster House Boardwalk location in Gulf Shores.

The Yard Milkshake Bar

Known for their impressive milkshakes topped with everything from marshmallow cream and gummy worms to cotton candy and a full slice of cheesecake, The Yard Milkshake Bar in Gulf Shores is bucket-list worthy. Milkshakes aren’t their only offerings, however.  Try one of their ice cream cones, floats, or grab scooped ice cream to go (in half pint or pint offerings).

Here are more details on the breakdown of their menus for first timers:

There are two menus:
