Our Sandpiper units on Beach Boulevard in Gulf Shores have gone through a recent complete deck replacement. This feature has been modernized and extended to make the units even more accommodating. People are really enjoying the new general and private decks.

Constructed of cedar, the new decks are stronger, safer, and much more appealing. We replaced some of the supporting columns as well. It was a major undertaking but well worth it, and this is just one example of how well we care for our rental condos and the people who rent them. Sandpiper Deck Replacement Project

SANDPIPER DECK PROJECT

February 3, 2010: Phase I of the Deck Replacement Project is nearing completion. The common area decks and both beachside stairwells are complete. The remaining portion is the private balconies. There were two change orders approved that contributed to the extended completion date - replacing rusted out flashing and replacement of some of the support columns on the balconies.

The new cedar decking is quite attractive. It is stronger, more structurally sound and enhances the safety and value of Sandpiper. (See pictures below).

December 10, 2009: C-Sharpe started Phase 1 of the deck replacement project on December 10th. The tear out on the 1st floor, both sides is complete and reframing of the joists is also complete. Partial tear out on the 2nd and 3rd levels is underway as well as portions of the south stairwells. The pictures of the joists demonstrate the splitting and deteriorating conditions of framing members. The nails and the bolts shown also demonstrate some significant loss of structural strength in places. All in all, progress at this time is good and the contractor is doing a good job.
